We took the bus to Playa Pillar for an afternoon and enjoyed this gorgeous beach. It has changed a lot and is far more built up since we visited 7 years ago which is a shame. That was one of the great things about Pillar Beach was there was only the restaurant and no other resorts. Now there is construction... More

Nice beach, but nothing special. No additional attractions to be seen and you would still need a boat to reach the reef for snorkeling.

Located 1.6 km away. Daily run or walk. Watch for speeding construction dump trucks. From the beach you can take a bus which will take you around the islands, well worth it. I run to this beach everyday, really nice but short.

This is a great sandy white sand beach about 20 minutes from Iberostar Playa Pilar. You walk on a blue walkway for a few minutes from the road, then you pass a restaurant before arriving at a beautiful beach. Here you can rent a beach chair for $2 or sunbed for $10. There is also a place where you can... More

If you're in the area, this is a great option - and there isn't much else to do off resort around that part of Cuba. Go early in the morning to experience the beach while the tide is out, see the water stretching out. The sand is white and powdery soft, and the water is turquoise blue with aqua green... More

One of the best beaches I have ever been on. We got there early and it wasn't very busy. Beautiful beach and you could walk out for ages into the water. Started to get busy later on. Used the restaurant and that was okay.

Wow. Everything and more than we expected. Many friends who had been here said it was a have to, and I agree. Short bus ride hop on and hop off bus from our resort. Beautiful beach, nice amenities. Restaurant served wonderful food and at a reasonable price. Bar right in the middle of the beach. Also reasonable. So glad we... More

Make your way to this beach. It is absolutely beautiful. The restaurant is a little pricy, but the beer is reasonable.

I still prefer Cayo Ensenachos but Playa Pilar is truly amazing. Pilar is a public beach, Ensenachos is not. That is the only reason why Pilar slides to #2, in my opinion. However, the sand (in both places) is fine white powder. When we went, it was windy so the water was a bit more rough. My kids had a... More
