We took our grandchildren to Chard Reservoir and they simply loved it. There are wonderful things to see there and it is a really good idea to take along some food for the fishes and ducks.

This is a lovely area for birds and wildlife and for just going for a walk near a large pond and woods. Ideal for walking off that big dinner or just to blow the cobwebs away. It can take as long or short depending on...More

Must use the bird watching area. Lots of details on local birds that have been seen at reservoir. Walks around the reservoir offer great views of birds.

Easy parking and a gentle, level stroll. Great bird watching hide. Pick your time and it is a lovely walk.

Having birdwatched at Chard Reservoir for 47 years....way before it became a 'Nature Reserve', I am most disappointed with the way in which it is now managed by the local council. Far too many trees & scrub has been cut down & cleared, & most...More

I was lucky enough to know Chard Reservoir nature reserve long before it became a nature reserve. It was always a great place providing a home to many nationally scarce species. Unfortunately it is now over managed for the masses and has subsequently lost most...More

I am a frequent visitor, and if you are anywhere near Chard, the Reservoir is definitely worth a visit. Lovely spot, birds and wildlife to see, lots of areas for the kids to have fun - and great walks.
