Get there early in the morning, we arrived around 8:30 am and there were only a few boats. Later it gets very crowded I read. There is just a tinny bit of a beach, you go there for the water and the amazing view.
Do not get to early as it is more beautiful when the sun hits the water and that is not happening early because is surrounded by cliffs.

One of the most magical places on the planet and is a must. Maya Bay was over busy but this place around the other side of the island is fantastic. Its a 3 hour ferry ride though is only draw back. We stayed on Phi Phi Island at Laem tong Beach for 8 days so we just got the locals to drive us to here is about a half an hour in a long boat was ideal. So spending 6 hours on a ferry might be a bit long but definitely worth it.
If you have plenty of money you could get a private speed boat out takes about an hour used to be a bout $600AUD one way but that's for 6 people so $200 ($400 return) per couple.
We also did a wall scuba dive near the entrance was also very special, nearby is an artificial reef that was put in place after the Tsunami wiped out the natural reef, is also a good scuba spot.
I have said June 2023 but it was actually June 2016 as the drop down does not go back that far.

This bay is an enclosed inlet with beautiful turquoise waters on the other side to maya bay on phi phi lee. Waters are calm and inviting and i was assured good for snorkelling. Only downside for me was that you have to get in and out of water from the boat, and i couldnt participate due to health issues. Looked great though and quite a few people already there by 11am

This is a beautiful lagoon near the phi phi island. We visited this as a part of phi phi island trip. This place is ideal for swimming and diving. We did swimming in the lagoon for half an hour. Beautiful place.

We stayed on phiphi don & arranged private long tail boat. Maya bay first stop followed by Pileh lagoon. Before other islands and beaches.
We got there early so literally snorkelled alone to the maya area permitted ( not the actual beach which is still closed to allow new reef to grow again).
The waters In Pileh are like no other I’ve seen a bright clear jade that shines amidst the limestone cliffs surrounding. A must whilst on Phiphi. Lifetime memory making moments.

We’re shocking when we arrive here because of the color of water. Smell of the sea made me feeling refreshing so much. We were jump out of the boat into the water, that’s so amazing!!!

Lovely must see place, cliffs are awesome and jumped of the boat and had a nice swim, the water can be quite deep in parts also only reason not 5 star rating is there are A LOT of other boats you need to be wary of.

We went here as part of our longtail hire that we took from Phi Phi Don. Words cannot describe or pictures do it justice, just how stunningly beautiful this place is. The waters are the most amazing emerald green and the backdrop scenery of the cliffs is truly like something out of Jurassic park.
I would suggest getting here early before the crowds, we started out at 8.30am and all the locations that we visited, we almost had them all to ourselves. truly amazing

Add this to your bucket list. Right now. This is my favorite place in the world after taking a private long tail here a couple days ago.
Your breath will be taken away as your enter the bay of the “Blue Lagoon”. I would recommend staying for a long time here on a private boat and doing less time at other stops along the bay!

When would be the best time of the day to visit Phileh Bay? We are arriving in February so it's still high season, and we would like to avoid crowds here but also enjoy some sun while swimming and snorkeling. We were planing to go to Maya bay about 7 a.m. and then Phileh bay, I'm just not sure if whole bay is in shade in the morning?

You are correct to go early morning. Not so sure about the sunbathing, there will be plenty of sun but also lots of people. This place is more about admiring the location.
