This provides a little bit of history along with the Lapu-Lapu statue and the park. The history is brief but you get the idea of what happened here. We came during low tide and it is interesting to see the ocean floor and the number of people picking crabs up off the floor. Would have loved to seen this at... More

Interesting venue to see when on Mactan Island. A couple plaques give the history, and the Lapu Lapu statue is adjacent. Worth visiting when you are in the area, but I wouldn't drive too far out of the way to visit.

You will find out some amazing facts abut Philippines colonisation by Spain and a few tribal facts but mostly you will get haggling practise. Nearby - behind the big stage - there are some pretty good seafood restaurants ... well fresh seafood anyways ...

In reality, this is nothing but a replica wooden cross that was on Magellan's ship. It holds significance for the Filipino people and for this reason should be respected but as a tourist it is something that can be missed. Better to spend more time looking at the church next door.

Along with Lapu Lapu statue this is a quick bit of history that is worth visiting. That Magellan came to these islands so very long ago is amazing.

I stumbled across this place by accident from my taxi driver from the Macatan-Cebu Airport! Probably the most important victory for a Filipino against Spanish aggression! Entrance fee to the monument was free.

The place was clean and beautiful. Great for families with kids. Nice place to stroll and had nice music playing in the background. My daughter even danced her way through the area with the music!

It is one of several monuments in the historical lapu lapu park in cebu. A popular place to take pictures. I went there with my girlfriend and found the park to be very nice. It`s popular among the locals that uses it to get away from the traffic noice at times.
