We visited the national park for a few hikes in early November and it was a beautiful experience! Like any national park in Finland, it is very well looked after and the hiking trails are set up very well.

Good routes are maintained daily. Varius landscapes from open fjells to arctic forests. Beautiful white snow. Nature at its best.

Beautiful in winter, with a great number of ski trails (starting in saariselka or Kiloopaa). You can warm up by making a fire and even sleep one night in daily hut.

The snow covered trees and the river that flows make it so magical. When the sun set over the snow cap trees it was just breath taking. Dress for the outing for its extremely cold.
