Used to be called the Antrim Coast Road when I was younger. Now "rebranded" as the Causeway Coastal Route. Signed now from Belfast via Carrickfergus to Larne and then north from Larne to the Giants Causeway. The Belfast to Larne section is far from being a coastal route as little of it hugs the shoreline. If you are short of... More

Walked from hotel along the Larne promenade to Carnfunnock Country park and back. It was jolly cold and windy but that made for an invigorating walk. Nice way to spend an hour or two

The coast road is breath taking I can say its one most beautiful coastlines I've ever seen.. You can see Scotland on a clear day and plenty of stop offs on the way up the coast and villages to explore..

Stunning scenery is everywhere you look when you follow the Coast Road. Sea views and rocky coastlines-open fields and wooded areas. This road is nice for a day out if you stop to have a look from some of the viewing points or in some of the lovely quaint villages along the way-popular with day trippers-stop for ice cream or... We travel a lot of different routes but this is one of our favourites. We pack up the car and our dog and just go. There are plenty of beaches and Sandy parts along the way to go for a walk. Also each little town is unique and beautiful.

Such a beautiful place to visit. I would recommend you hire a car and travel down the coast road as it is absolutely stunning.

We travelled the Antrim Coast Road in December 2016 on a beautiful winter day. The drive from Larne is just gorgeous, another great view around every corner. A real highlight was Ballintoy harbour. The wind was picking up and the waves were crashing over the rocks making the water look like milk and foam was flying everywhere. We described it... More

I drove from Carrickfergus to Cushendall along the coast road this week. It is stunning and probably the most beautiful part of Ireland on a clear day. Don't miss it. Be patient, the road gets busy with cyclists in the summer but it's good for the soul to see these amazing headlands appear out of nowhere with the expanse of... More

This is the most beautiful place in the world, but hurry! The council are actively trying to destroy it, They are building a wall in excess of four feet high all along the road in an attempt to prevent ordinary motorists seeing the ocean. They are building massive concrete 20 feet slabs so you cannot see the shore. William Bald... More
