Well what can we say. The wines where amazing. We left with 3 bottles of great wines. Their prices are on the higher side but worth it. The grounds are beautiful. The only thing was that Tammy as wonderful as she was and very knowledgeable of all the wines gave us information overload. 2 hours it took to taste 8 wines, way to long.

My Wife & I first visited here in 2019 BC (before Covid) for a short stopover, and were impressed with both the winery and grounds.
Yesterday, my Son visiting from Toronto and I visited, and were even more impressed. We were fortunate enough to be able to hear directly from Sandor about many of the anecdotes and history of the winery, and the making/naming of the wines, and even the incredible details of the bottle labels.
He is a tremendous storyteller, fueled by his passion and innovativeness for winemaking, and obviously loves to talk to people about it all.
I’ve never before visited a winery where the owner spent so much time with their customers and visitors, was so engaging, and so proud of their accomplishments.
Ask about “the Greatest Wine & Cheese Story Ever Told”, for a glimpse of Canadian and local history that is known by few Canadians.
BTW, the Portage Tawny “Port” style wine is outstanding, and the Cabernet Franc Rose’ is very nice, drinkable anytime.
The organic growing methods will no doubt appeal to a specific segment, (although not me personally), and my taste isn’t refined enough to distinguish if there is a difference.
Also check out the inside of the Winery, the washrooms; the general décor is quirky, imaginative and one of a kind.
Thank You Sandor for answering our questions, and for a memorable Father/Son afternoon on a beautiful late Summer Saturday.
If anyone who enjoys wine is in the area, passing through, staying locally, or even needing a short 35 minute break from the 401, do yourself a favour and turn north on Hwy 37 to stop by and see for yourself.

So glad to have stumbled upon this Gem of a winery during our yearly trip to Ontario! The winery is on such a beautiful location and the wines are fantastic! The Owner Sandor is so passionate and knowledgeable about his craft! Drop in for a wine tasting! You will not be disappointed and will have a hard time deciding which bottle to take home!

The host was charming and Very knowledgeable about his wine. The wine I tasted was very different and dry just the way I like wine to be. I purchased a bottle and plant to buy more.

There is a fair amount of walking they do have a vehicle for a few people to drive in. You had to be careful slit of yellow jackets. I found the wine just to be so so but it really was not my cup of tea but it could please other people.

Four of us visiting Picton (PEC) for some wine tasting. A side trip to Tweed. Make sure you plan to have sufficient time to not only taste the wines but to hear the history given passionately by Owner Sandor Johnson. A thoroughly enjoyable experience and for my palate I came away with a case made up of the 2017 Cabernet Frank and the 2017 Marquette, both winners on all counts. (Potter Settlement Vineyards and Artisan Winery won silver for its Cabernet Franc at the 2018 San Francisco International Wine Competition, and a gold with its Marquette, which also earned honours at the 2017 InterVin International Wine Awards.) Will return to taste more wines!

Absolutely phenomenal wines. The tasting was a wonderful experience as we got a history of each wine prior to sampling. Love the fact that this is an organic winery that does things the old fashion way. We have done PE County tours and Niagra tours and Potter Settlement has by far some of the best wines we have ever tasted.

For anybody coming to PEC for the wineries this outlier has to be visited. Not a bad wine in the bunch. The tour is both highly informative and entertaining. If say Sandbanks Winery is "good" ,and, Norman Hardie is "better" , then Potter Settlement is unequivocally the "best".

Always a great outing with family and friends to visit Potter Settlement Winery. Santor is terrific host, great history story of the evolution of the land to its current use for making some terrific wines. Definitely worth visiting and spending couple hours visiting the winery. See you next year!

I live in Alberta. Chances are at that time of year, we'll have already had a blizzard!
