Always an amazing experience visiting the best Provincial Park in Ontario, I come up here for a week or two every single year and I am always happy with my adventure! Fushimi has such an incredible and friendly staff that is always smiling and ready to help out in any way. Fushimi Lake is a must camp park for everyone. I highly recommend this park. I look forward returning this year. :)

Fushimi Lake is a very pretty lake, with loons and gorgeous sunsets. The fishing was adequate -- we managed to catch enough to feed our family for 4 of the 7 nights we were there (mostly Pike, occasional Walleye, and rare Perch, although nothing particularly huge).
The park itself doesn't have much to offer. We tried to take a hike to the fire watch tower (one of only two trails in the park), but were immediately swarmed by mosquitoes and eventually gave up. We didn't check out the campsites, but this is a very quiet, under-utilized park. In my opinion, it is really only suitable for fisherman and people who want to really get away from it all. The water isn't good for swimming, as it is brown, weedy and filled with leeches (as one of my kids discovered upon wading in a short distance).
We rented the one cabin in the park, accessible only by boat (Fushimi Cabins). We enjoyed our stay in the cabin, which was well-stocked and perfectly adequate for a quiet, remote get-away. Even the outhouse was quite acceptable. I doubt we will go back to this park, but we were happy to have experienced it once.

We stayed for 3 nights (June 27-30) and thoroughly enjoyed the park! Our site was spacious and clean with a beautiful view of the lake. We caught both pike and walleye from shore on every occasion! The fish cleaning station was the highlight for my 13 year old son. A dedicated building with 4 large cutting boards mounted to 2 huge stainless steel sinks with 2 hand held sprayers. The beach was clean as was the beach volleyball court. My wife and daughter were ecstatic that the washrooms were spotless (with flush toilets) as were the showers. Even though the park was at full capacity (for the first time in 6 years I was told) it was very quiet with nice spacing between sites. Kevin and his staff were very helpful and pleasant. My only disappointment is that the park is so far from home! We will definitely find our way back there some day.

Our family has camped across both Canada and the US, from coast to coast. This is our favourite park. We returned this summer to enjoy what we believe to be one of the friendliest, best maintained provincial parks in Ontario. There are no organized kids activities and no playground as the park is too small. There is good fishing, pleasant surroundings, lots of dry fire wood and helpful friendly staff. Thirty minutes from the park is the Town of Hearst which has several casual but very good restaurants and all the basics.
This is a fishing camp and if you enjoy fishing then you will enjoy this park.

I have been going to Fushimi Park on and off since about 1984, right after it opened as a Provincial Park.
It has changed a lot since the days Ross ran the park and the back then there was no such thing as electricity or running water anywhere in the park. Now they have showers, water, hydro, boats/bicycles for rent, and even a cabin within the park.
I have also rented Fushimi Cabin across the bay several times which is perfect to totally get away from it all.
I tend to go up in late May for walleye fishing when the bugs are still down, but so are the temperatures, but fishing at ice out is awesome. Excellent fishing, gorgeous lake, and northern lights on occasion.
Since my buddies no longer want to take the trek up from Michigan (11 hours) I have been bring my son since he was 4 and he loves it as well.
There is a lot of wildlife to be seen here so enjoy. Just give the bears and moose some space, we never had a problem but respect that you are in THEIR yard now!
Hearst is the nearest town about 20 miles away and has everything you need!

i visited this park in August 2016 for the first time. We rented a boat and did some fishing at the far end of the lake. we caught lots of pike including one that was 43 inches long. The camping was also great and we appreciated the hot showers. I will start visiting this park each summer

Bucket List: Visit every Provincial Park in Ontario. There is only one operating Provincial Park further north in the NE section of Ontario than Fushimi Lake and that is Tidewater on James Bay. So by car this is about as far north as it gets. Many parks post bear warnings, this one had it right on the stop sign so no missing it! Fushimi Lake is a beautiful park, quiet. We went for a swim, the water and beach were clean. Road in was rough but added to the "northerness" of the experience.

We camped there end of July the bugs were extremely bad deer fly's were slamming the van when we were checking in. At night time trailer filled with these tiny black fly's that swarmed you at night. The comfort station smelled like an out house. Wanted to rent a boat to go fishing but it was broke.
Maybe it was just my experience staff seemed confused was unable to provide a map of the park.
Although seemed nice size sites but road getting into park is long and all gravel with pot holes and wash board so drive slow. My trailer and van was covered in dust and dirt.
Ended our trip a day early bugs were to much.

Spectacular park!! We had an awesome water front site with our own little beach!! Site #20. Sites are spacious and private back ins! Walking trails are great! It’s a 25k drive in from Hwy 11 on a gravel road but well worth it. Hearst is aprox 40k up the hwy and has all amenities! Definitely a must see in Northern Ontario!!

Anyone know what kind of cell reception there is at the park?

Can you tell us how far off Highway 11 the park is? Will be travelling from TBay, via Longlac and could arrive around 4 pm Thursday prior to September labour day weekend. Would require a pull through site. Thanks
