Still have a smile on my face from our time on the Restigouche :) Arpin Canoe Restigouche staff were very helpful and friendly. We knew we were in good hands as soon as we arrived.

We were accommodated eventhough the place was super busy with groups, and driven up with our gear for a 17.5 km paddle down the Kedgwick River. Staff was super helpful and knowledgeable, and even though it was really busy, we managed to pass the earlier groups and had the quiet, cool, pristine river to ourselves. Paddleing was mostly leisurely, with a few areas that were more tricky with low water and rocks, and some fairly easy Rapids. We made good time, swam 3 times, picnic, and were back in about 4h. Again upon our return staff was awesome. Thanks so much!

I have done a fair bit of flat water and white water canoeing in my day, but the Restigouche and Kedgwick rivers really stand out as exceptional. The water is crystal clear and it is quiet although not far from civilization.
Arpin Canoe is a quality operation. The boats are highly suitable for the purpose and well maintained. The staff are knowledgeable and accommodating. The drivers are competent and careful (the logging roads are rough to say the least). I felt secure and well looked after. They know the rivers and canoeing. Will definitely be back.

Meilleur façon de descendre la rivière. Les gens sont très amicable, très informatif et respectueux.

The staff is very friendly, and informative. The owners and staff have been doing this for ages and they really know the ins and outs of this river. If you have any questions or concerns, these guides and staff have seen lots and can answer any silly or stupid questions, don't be shy, these people are very approachable.

Obviously you must be mindful of other fisherman that share the river, but provided you are respectful and do not polute, this could be the best canoe trip of your life. It certainly has been for us for the last 20 years (approx.)

Nice leisurely calm canoe ride down. Rented dry bags because we didnt want our stuff to get wet (yes, although we didnt flip, some mild rapids occasionnaly gets some water inside the canoe).

Do's and don't;
-DO plan in advance where you sleep, canoing hard after 7pm on a empty stomach can really ruin a night
-DONT keep your tent or clothing essentials open in your canoe, being wet can kill your fun...
-DO have fun (wether that means drinks in the evening or a bon fire, or a swim, or frisbee games, your free and your far from civilisation
-DONT do anything stupid, as I said, your far from civilisation, don't get hurt (too bad, lol).
-DO respect fishermen by not going in their way (do your best to avoid their path where they're fishing)
-DONT forget; toilet paper, tarps, dry and wet clothes, drybags,
-DO give yourself time to get on and off the river and not be too rushed.
-DONT litter; fines and patrolling guards are there to protect the irresponsible

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our 5-day excursion paddling down the Kedgwick and Restigouche Rivers. Surrounded by breathtaking scenery, we enjoyed numerous bald eagles soaring above, salmon swimming beneath our canoe, otters playing in the water, and even a moose!

Our guide, Domenic, was the consummate leader of our group.
He was knowledgeable, entertaining, and kept us safe and sound.

Gourmet meals (prepared by Domenic) were amazing, including trout, chili, pork tenderloin, rib-eye steaks, french toast, omelettes, fiddlehead soup, chocolate fondue, and an endless supply of mid-day snacks to keep us paddling!! We now know that maple syrup is an all-purpose condiment.

The only downside of the trip was that it had to end.

Thank you, Domenic and Arpin, for the incredible journey.

A fabulous July 5-day guided trip down the Kedgwick and Restigouche rivers. It felt like we saw an eagle about every 15 minutes. Magnificent scenery round every bend. Our guide, Dominic, was cheerful, encouraging, safety conscious, full of interesting stories and seemingly indefatigable. And the food! Brilliant and healthy (yes, both of those). Also want to mention the hospitality of River warden Ron, and his dog Hailey at Two Brooks. Now I want to come back to do the Patapedia, and then to see the river in the fall colours. Many thanks Marie-Christine for a great trip.

The team at Arpin Canoe are everything customer service should be! We did a two day guided canoe of the Restigouche River and they were very attentive to our needs.

Our guide, Domenic provided exceptional service. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the river, its flora and fauna, wilderness guiding in general and a fine camp chef as well. Everything was well organized from start to finish and it is easy to tell the whole team is very proud of what they provide and committed to their craft.

The entire experience was one of very good value and the peace and solitude of the two day paddle was a welcome break from busy urban life. A beautiful river and great people. We will certainly be back next year to enjoy it all over again!

It is very clear Marie-Christine and her team consider their work at Arpin Canoe more than a job....they have all made life style choices they love to share. They do a top notch job of providing great equipment, flexible on time shuttles, paddling /navgation tips, emphasize safety and coaching on how to respect the environment. But they also share stories and go out of their way to show customers unique wild life and other river highlights. This last trip it was a story of a mother bear and 4 cubs with the video!
They are justifyably proud of the region and it adds another layer of enjoyment to any Arpin Canoe experience . We are lucky to have such a competent and enthusiastic team make it so fun and easy to enjoy the rivers of northern NB. Thanks Marie-Christine and team

We've canoed the Restigouche at least once a summer since 2003, and always look forward to seeing the Arpins. This family run business knows how to do it right. They're warm, welcoming, professional and each time we arrive it's like coming home. They've created a thriving business that manages to respect and enhance the environment, they employ local people each summer, and they are absolutely passionate about sharing their love of nature with New Brunswickers and tourists alike.

We've canoed with large groups and small, with kids and without, and just the two of us as well. Each time the arrangements are seamless and the experience has been awesome. We once had a medical situation that required us to take out early. We managed to get word to Marie Arpin and she quickly made arrangements to get to us, made sure we got where we needed to go and that we were very well taken care of throughout.
If you have an opportunity to visit northern New Brunswick and take in the beauty of the Restigouche region this is the place to begin your adventure!
