The beach is backed by various Tavernas , Coffee shops restaurants and hotels and is connected to the main commercial harbour. The main road runs along the front and is extremely busy at all times

This beach is mixture of sand and pebbles of each size. If you are a fan of sandy beaches you could be disappointed. The beach is more sandy the first 50 m from the port. Deckchairs belong to restaurants and pubs along the street. You...More

In my opinion this is a nice feature/attraction of Kalamata. It's great that there is somewhere to swim in a city or ust sit back and relax in one of the many restaurants or cafes along the way.

Beach is ok for sunning and swimming, with a fair selection of waterfront bars and cafes. The cleanliness, both of the sand and the water, improves as you walk farther away from the port area.

A long clean beach at the south area of Kalamata. This is not usual for a greek city. You can enjoy your swimming sitting on a cafe, tavern, hotel, even at no store. You pay nothing for the sunbeds and the umbrella.

Great beach, once you get accustomed to the pebbles! But it's everywhere in this region. If you see reviews or descriptions saying "sandy beach" it's a lie. All of the beaches in this region are rocky. But you will bask in the coolness of the...More

Nicky from Climb Up dropped me at the beach. We spent an hour together and I’ll manage to get back to my hotel on my own.

One of the rare occasions that you can swim exactly at the centre of the city. The beach is clean and nice. Of course there are astonishing beaches around but Kalamate beach is a great option.
