We went to Bingley Five Rise Locks and were not disappointed. The surrounding area is beautiful and watching the locks in operation is fascinating. There are three locks lower down the canal which rise to 30 feet. The five locks rise 60 feet. The Staff...More

Amazing place! Beautiful scenic location and wonderful for a quiet, long, leisurely walk along the canal. Even in the rain! Recommend a visit and lunch at the Fisherman's too!

This is just a brilliant experience, either in a boat, or to visit and watch. An amazing engineering accomplishment in its time, and still being used daily now by dozens of boaters - its incredible. The lock keepers are great, keeping tracks of us all,...More

I am pretty sure there are no pleasure craft/day boats that do a tourist type trip to the locks. Other than a local private hire then Skipton is the nearest place. Having said that a barge from Skipton to include... More

If there is a boat in the lock I'd allow an hour. Then if there isn't you can always stop by the cafe for ice cream or hot chocolate depending on the weather. We parked near the lock and walked from there (about 5 minutes... More
