About
GOOD NEWS. WE WILL OPEN AGAIN STARTING ON WEDNESDAY JULY 1ST & FOR EVERY WEDNESDAY IN JULY. WE WILL THEN MAKE A DECISION WITH REGARDS TO THE FOLLOWING MONTHS. WE ASK ALL GUESTS TO PLEASE FOLLOW COVID19 REGULATIONS & GUIDELINES & TO BE MIND FULL OF ALL OTHER VISITORS. THANK YOU Kay & Bernard The Orgiva Tea Garden at the Las Chimeneas finca has evolved from a barren patch of land that had been abandoned for over 30 years into a beautiful tranquil garden split over three very different levels and covering about 5000 sq m. The philosophy with regards to the planting has been to concentrate mainly on Mediterranean plants with help from shade providing trees and also to take into account our animals as many have free roam over the garden. Refreshments are available including homemade sandwiches, a variety of teas ,coffee and other drinks and of course Kay's famous delicious homemade cakes. Entrance is 3€.

Quirky garden and interesting hosts
Jul. 2020
This garden is a real treat - interesting plantings, animals of all sorts, occasional musicians. There is a totem pole showing the names and origins of the many volunteers who have stayed and worked in the garden over the years , and a photo album showing the evolution of the house and garden.
It is 2 or 3 years since i visited but have only just noticed, when reviewing another garden, that i didn't finish this review then, so belatedly thank you to the owners of this cafe/garden and i hope to see you again when I can go to Spain again. The date I visited is too far back to register on the drop-down list here so I put 2020 but it was 2019.

Still a magical place for a lunchtime concert under the trees
Jul. 2020
Worth a visit to wander around the gardens and to hear guitarist Jose play under the trees on a Wednesday lunch time. We visited for the 3rd year running last week, the music was excellent and soothing. Refreshing drinks and a modest selection of home made sandwiches and cakes are available for purchase. Welcoming hosts, Bernie is very knowledgeable about the area too. Try the lemonade. Recommended.

Magical
Oct. 2019
Visited on the last Wednesday in October and spent several hours listening to the magnificent guitar playing of José Vilchez and touring the interesting gardens. Delighted that Bernard and Kay were so welcoming and made themselves available to chat about what they have achieved and how they had done it. For us the real highlight was José Vilchez whose playing in such wonderful, tranquil surroundings was magnificent.
A light lunch of their delicious sandwiches in the dappled shade listening to such good music was definitely a highlight of our holiday. We can't wait to repeat this next year.

Relaxing few hours
Aug. 2019 • Couples
This is the 2nd time we have visited here, and the 2nd time its been very enjoyable and relaxing that's for sure, hosts are very good, food and drink is also very good, worth checking there Facebook and Instagram accounts before turning up as are only open certain days of the week, small entry free to get in, after that time is your own, certainly not pressured to leaving here.

Relaxing afternoon with Family
Jul. 2019 • Family
Recently stayed in Órgiva and found this place via tripadvisor. What a great find. Came with the family including a 1yr old and 5yr old. We all loved it. Weather was hot so didn’t want to do much and Órgiva Tea Gardens is perfect, spent late morning until late afternoon here, wandering around gardens, seeing animals and then relaxing in the seating area listening to Jose Vilchez whilst having lunch, tea and cake - all delicious. Homemade lemonade and lemon drizzle were amazing! Friendly staff, who’d of thought we would meet others from Alton/Farnham whilst on holiday in Spain! My daughter loved doing the quiz and it’s great you provide blankets, toys and books to keep the children entertained - you really cater for everyone. Such a relaxed environment and a lovely setting.

Perfect relaxing afternoon!
Jul. 2019 • Couples
We visited the Tea gardens on a July afternoon and found them to be tranquil, relaxing and not too hot! We began our visit with a spot of lunch under the shade of the patio with my wife saying it was one of the best smoked salmon sandwiches ever!
After a a lovely chat with the owner Kay, we adventured off in to the beautiful gardens and to see all the animals. In a hot and dusty climate (it is July in Southern Spain) it was fantastic to see such colours and greenery. Having wandered around the gardens we finished off our visit with homemade icecream (trust me it was very tasty!) and more time with the owners Kay & Bernie who's passion for their gardens and knowledge of plants was a joy to listen to. Overall an oasis of calm, peace and colour!

Delightful! Well worth a visit.
Jul. 2019 • Family
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Órgiva tea garden. A little gem of a place. Beautiful gardens to enjoy whilst sampling the homemade treats including brownies and lemon drizzle cake, sandwiches, and of particular mention... the lemonade. What makes it special however are the owners whose passion and enthusiasm is clear. Having transformed a derelict building and plot over the last 15 years into an oasis of calm and beauty they are quite rightfully enthusiastic of their efforts and passionate about their project. We loved speaking with them. Our boys also loved feeding the llamas and watching the peacocks and chickens that roamed around the gardens looking for crumbs. Well worth a visit.

Beautiful garden
Jun. 2019 • Couples
We spent a perfect couple of hours in this peaceful green oasis outside Orgiva. It’s a stunning garden, with lots of beautiful plant combinations set against a mountainous backdrop. There are lots of meandering paths revealing some gorgeous vistas.

The food is excellent – we had beautiful sandwiches and lovely cake. The owners are really friendly and helpful. Highly recommended, and well worth going out of your way to visit.

Charming oasis of calm
May 2019 • Friends
Followed the directions on the website which were very clear and arrived at these charming gardens. Greeted by Miguel & Billy (the dogs) and shown through to these lovely shaded and interesting gardens. Our smoked salmon sandwiches were wonderful and the homemade ice cream was outstanding. A lovely way to spend an afternoon.
