This is a delightful attraction! If you walk the whole loop around Ross Lake, it's around 5 km's, and there is some elevation on the west side, about 150 m's. You get excellent views all the way around, but the best are from the west side, especially the viewing platform, where get to see the mine site. A must-do if you're in the area! For people with physical challenges, or if you're pushing a stroller, the stairs might be an obstacle. If you want to get to the viewing platform in that circumstance, try starting from town on the west side.

As part of a road trip, we decided to explore Flin Flon. Thanks to a FREE magazine we picked up at our hotel, we had a map of suggested “Things To See” in the towns nearby; including Flin Flon.

We walked the Flinty’s Boardwalk that lakeside to Ross Lake.
The Boardwalk is wheelchair, walker, bicycle, hover board, crutches/cane and stroller accessible.

The hiking trail loop begins after the Boardwalk and takes you along the lake. There’s some large rocks to climb during the second half of the trail loop. The view of Flin Flon from atop the rocks is majestic and so worth it. Estimated Trail Time 45-60 minutes depending on personal fitness level and amount of stops to explore/experience the trail.

Many photographic viewpoints/nature areas.

Good walking shoes, water, and insect repellent recommended.

In my opinion, this trail would be a great winter hike, as well; #yearroundtrails.

Special Thanks to all the sponsors that supported Flinty’s Boardwalk.

Until next time
