About
This popular resort of hot sulphurous water is located six miles south- southwest of the town of Coamo on the eastern edge of the river of that name. It is the only of its kind in Puerto Rico . Legend says that these springs are the Fountain of Youth Don Juan Ponce de Leon sought. According to that same legend, the Puerto Ricans Indians told this that source " lay well west " for which he sailed to foreign lands in search . Thus accidentally discovered Florida , where he eventually met his death not suspicious the fountain of youth that had sought the " west " , but in his beloved Puerto Rico .

We went on a Monday afternoon, so while there were others enjoying the waters, it wasn't crowded. Of the 2 pools, the less hot of the 2 pools was bigger. Both pools probably have a depth of 3.5 ft.
The only showers are outside next to the less hot pool. They are outdoors and are just for rinsing off (not for soaping up or shapooing) before you take a dip or to cool off between dips. The water is tepid, but feels refreshing vs the pools. The locker rooms have toilets and 3 individual changing stalls and a few small lockers you can use your own lock to store items. Most people just set their things at one of the tables or chairs around the pools. There are no locker room showers to wash off after your pool experience. Make sure to bring your own towels.
You pay the entrance fee at the gift shop. They have snacks, drinks, and knick-knacks

It is a small, nicely landscaped area with two hot springs pools. One is hotter temperature that the other. There is an outdoor shower, for your use, that cools you off after your soak. 15 minute intervals are recommended. The continuous music was very spa like and relaxing. The pools are shaded by canopies, which it a nice feature. Southern Puerto Rican sun can be intense. There are also shaded picnic areas surrounding the pools. The changing rooms were clean and lockers were made available.. We enjoyed our two hour break from travel very much while we rejuvenated our bodies and minds for a bit. Would highly recommend a stop at the Coamo Hot Springs.

Los Banos de Coamo is a small but cozy getaway for a day. You can soak in both the hot baths and the sun. There’s limited snacks and sundries, but that’s expected when the goal is to soak away your worries.
It’s not a good place to bring children because there’s nothing else to do but soak in the 2 hot pools, but it’s ideal respite for Mom and Dad!👍

I have been wanting to come to this place for quite some time. Many years ago I visited a similar place except it was just merely a concrete bath tub and not much to look at. Fast forward to today and the place now looks like a resort. To gain access you pay the small sum of $3.00. They have two hot spring pools to enjoy. According to the staff there; one pool is at about 75 degrees and the other is at about 100 degrees. We first took a shower then jumped into the 75 degree pool. It was quite pleasant. After soaking for about 10-15 minutes (they recommend you do no more than 15 minutes at a time) we decided to try the hotter pool. At first it is a bit uncomfortable but once you get accustomed it feels really good. Your muscles and joints really feel good. We went in and out for several times. The water, pools and grounds were impeccably kept. It felt like you were in a zen garden. By the way as you were there they play relaxing music which helped produce a great zen vibe.
After relaxing for a while we then visited their concession stand which had great snacks-we opted for the lemonade and fresh fruit. It was delicious. At the concession stand they had bathrooms/changing rooms which were very clean and private. Oh by the way, I highly recommend you sign up for the massage. Where else can you get a massage where it is actually $1 a minute. We decided to get 20 minutes and it was the perfect way to end a wonderfully perfect day. Overall I really enjoyed this place and am glad to see how it has progressed I will definitely be back on my next visit.

About 30 years ago I had stayed at the historic inn, enjoying the large pools there and meeting some good people. The public pool, located kind of behind the Parador (then part of a small government-coordinated chain of interesting small hotels), was little more than a foot bath. I knew the inn had been badly damaged by Hurricane Maria and had not yet been rebuilt, but had seen here at Trip Advisor that the public section had been developed. It was even better than I expected. Two nice pools--one fairly large and warm and the other small and hot. The mineral water is slightly sulfuric, which is fine with me because I know it can do very good things for the skin. Since it was a Monday afternoon, there were people, but it was not crowded. The hurricane did not miss this small oasis, taking out a lot of trees that would have provided welcome shade. Until they grow back, the Aguas Termales have plentiful awnings and umbrellas. Also a small shop with interesting Puerto Rican crafts, coffee and honey, as well as water, juice and snacks. Oh, and since I'm of a "certain age," admission was only $1.00.

The place was not like expected in terms of the pools. I thouhgt they were more spacious and more in quantity. There are only 2 pools. They are small. The pool with warm water was dirty. The other pool which has the hot water (110 degrees or more) was very clean and clear but has less space and so hot that we could only be there for 2 minutes. After, maybe an hour, of getting out of there, I began to feel a little headache, I took some pills to alĂviate it, but it won’t work, the headache still getting worse, felt like my head was about to explode :(. Later, talking to someone, explained to me that some people could react to the high degrees of the waters making the blood pressure to increase. I am really not visiting again. The place has also an spa for massages, maybe that can be worth it.

Under $6 for both of us to enjoy the hot springs pools for the day. There are also massage therapists on site for additional fees. Changing area and restrooms on site. They also have a little shop on site to purchase snacks, drinks, souvenirs, and small incidentals. Highly recommend to anyone! Wish we could've visited a 2nd time before we left PR.

My husband and I drove there 1 1/2 hours after getting off a cruise ship. It was well worth it! I hated to leave.

When I was a kid I visited this area a lot with my parents. Today is a very different place. The renovation of the area is amazing. If you want to experience a natural healing process you should come and visit. They have a SPA on the premises and a small cafeteria. The prices for the entrance are really cheap. Remember to bring plenty of water.

The day we went there was a celebration for a saint.. There was free foid, free drinks and live music.. met the sweetest young boy with his family. . It was an experience I'll never forget... I've also been here on a quiet day... it works well both ways.. yes and the bones love it...

Is the Coamo thermal hot spring open now after the hurricaine. Would like to schedule it for a day in June 2018 but cant find out if it is now open and can you get there by car, are the roads ok now

I don't remember exactly but I think it's around $5.00 per person it's not expensive... enjoy the place... and enjoy Puerto Rico...
