We took this guided tour on Saturday, March 7th from 7-9:30 p.m. The tour followed the Lindsay Tract trail during the dark. Expertly guided by Graham and Rick, two very knowledgeable and eco-aware guides who volunteer their time and expertise to make visitors more aware of the mysteries of some of the owl species (great horned, screech and barn) found on the Bruce Peninsula, and to educate guests about the environmental and ecological challenges facing the area. Our sense of hearing was relied on as Graham called to the the owls ....the night-time darkness made the experience hauntingly beautiful. We were fortunate to enjoy a clear sky, a full moon, and thousands of stars to light the trail. It was an exhilarating experience, made even better by a brief fireside pit stop with cookies and hot drinks provided. Graham and Rick were personable and experienced....and the fees will go to further ecology maintenance and education activities.
We cannot recommend this experience highly enough. The trails were easily navigated, the silence was so evocative, and the 15 participants came away very pleased. Just do it!

Loved this tour! A good mix - some snowshoeing through the woods and over frozen lakes, some hiking with crampons exploring caves and ice formations at the water’s edge. Graham is super knowledgeable, looked out for everyone’s safety, and gave interesting info along the way. Didn’t have to deal with the summer crowds, had this beautiful spot pretty much to ourselves! Highly recommend Eco Adventures.

My partner and I went on The Grotto winter tour and it was one of the best experiences of our lives, and certainly the best outdoor experience I’d ever had in the winter. Our guide Graham was so knowledgeable, and I’ve been talking about the tour non-stop since we came back. Can’t wait to take my youngest son to the Owl Howl in Lion’s Head later in the month! You’ve hooked us. And I love knowing the tours (and the fees) support the work of a local environmental charity that helps look after The Bruce Peninsula. It’s a total win win.

What an awesome day. :) Forgot about time....,it was that good! The hike was so enjoyable and wonderfully challenging too! Our guide Caley was stellar. He went way beyond; story telling, giving us naturalist teachings and ID, serving us Cedar tea at lunch! The Georgian Bay beauty and ice beauty definitely gave me my needed "fix" as this area is paradise. Caley and his team were so professional, well prepared and attentive as well. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!

Winter wonderland!
The four-hour hike opened our eyes to various geographic and ecological features of the Bruce National Park. Beautiful scenery, knowledgeable guides and plenty of time for photos, questions and snacks.
Also great to know that the fee goes to supporting environmental projects in the area.

Snowshoeing was truly an awesome experience. Rick & Graham was very helpful and knowledgeable about the flora and the history behind the Bruce Peninsula. The scenic view was spectacular with water, icicles and snow-laden trees and grotto. They provided all the types of equipment required; they even had mittens to spare and hand warmers to spare. we were a group of 13 and I heard one of our group member state that The snowshoeing experience was better than one of the excursions that they took part of a cruise.

What a fantastic day! Graham was an expert and trusted guide as we explored the ice formations and sea caves. Truly amazing. While we couldn’t snowshoe because weather conditions didn’t agree, the hike with ice crampons provided by EcoAdventures made for a wonderful day. And Graham is a wealth of knowledge— I learned geology, biology, history of this region. Truly awesome. I highly recommend.

This tour was worth the drive in a snowstorm to see the incredible views along the Bruce Peninsula. We’ve been up to the Grotto several times but have never seen it like this. The trees were like ice sculptures and it felt like you were in Narnia! Our tour guides Rick and Graham were awesome. Will definitely join another adventure with this crew! Help support this wonderful non-profit company and book a tour with them. Their knowledge and passion for this area is contagious in a very good way!
