We recently held a family reunion dinner at Manuel’s River Interpretation Centre. We are very pleased with the service we received from Jennifer, Emily and chef, Mike. Most of the planning was done with Emily. She is an excellent communicator- courteous, helpful and very prompt in her replies to email or telephone requests. Both Emily and Jennifer attended to the event, ensuring that our every request was provided. The meal was delicious. The venue was clean and bright and the staff ensured we had a very enjoyable event.

We did the “Food, Fossils, and Fire” guided hike on a Thursday afternoon. Our guides were very informative and friendly. The fossil dig was very fun and the bonfire included marshmallows to roast and a magician/story teller. Great outdoor activity for all ages.

One of the most scenic trails walked with so much history, a protected fossil site! True forest bathing as you walk the shore bed, good for the body & mind!
You can enjoy this slice of mother nature any time. During Business Hours, there is a great coffee shop, gift boutique & interpretation center in the main building. So worth your exploration.

The interpretation centre has exhibits on the bottom floor, you can have a tour of the exhibits also. The staff were very friendly and informative. There is a Coffee Matters in the building, we ate lunch there and it was good. There is also a gift shop but I did not go in there.
The trail is very nice and easy to walk. If you s5op into the interpretation centre first they will explain to you where to look for fossils.

We walked the Ocean trails and should probably have visited the exhibition first to get the most out our time. Or taken one of their guided tours. Having said that, the walks are pleasant; one is mainly level but the other involves some slopes and steps. We had a good salad in the cafe and then visited the exhibition where an enthusiatic and knowledgeable guide gave us an excellent explanation. We certainly learned some things and found it very interesting.

We had a lovely walk along the river. Also, we viewed an interesting trilobite fossil exhibit, with an attendant that gave us personalized attention. Very Impressed!

It was my first time visiting Newfoundland at the end of May this year. I made sure we stopped at Manuels River Hibernia Interpretation Centre before we embarked on our hike along the river to look at some Newfoundland scenery. The interpretation centre is informative and includes great interactive displays.
While looking at the exhibits, Justin offered us a tour, which we happily accepted. Justin was a remarkable tour guide! He personalized the tour to our interests and answered all of our questions (we learned much more than if we simply walked around on our own)
At the end of the tour we asked some questions regarding suggesting for our hike and a place to eat before it. He helped us plan our hike and gave us suggestions for place to eat (with suggestions from another colleague as well).
Great place to go learn about Newfoundland's beautiful geological landscape, I highly recommend a visit if you're in the area.

This is a beautiful place, with an amazing geological history. Our guide, Eleanor, was fantastic! She was very knowledgeable and in the 1+ hr walking tour of the river she told the fascinating story of how this land was created over the course of 550 million years and how the river came to be. The Centre has a wonderful interpretive display of the river, with rocks from various stretches and incredible fossils that were found right here.
I would love to come back and see the river during different seasons.
