Been all around the world and got to do some pretty crazy experiences like running with the bulls in Spain, cage diving with great white sharks in Australia, and I gotta say - swimming with the whales was by far one of the best adventure tours that I have ever experienced. Our skipper "Johnny O" was top-notch - super educational, had a binocular set of eyeballs for spotting wildlife from miles away, a smile that was as big as a whale's tail, and he was all about keeping us and the wildlife safe. Couldn't ask for a better skipper. Seeing the whales swimming underneath us was such a goosebump, heart pounding and such a rush of a moment that it's hard to describe. It's an experience like no other. Besides getting to experience swimming with the whales, we lost track with the amount of whales and dolphins we saw (too many to count), got to go into some sea caves and just see the coast of Newfoundland was incredible. Needless to say. it's a bucket list experience that you will never forget.

This is by far one of the most incredible experiences on earth. I love to swim with whales. Sometimes we get to see them, other times no. That's really up to mother nature. Regardless it's the thrill of a lifetime to be water-level in the boat, and truly with the waves, water and elements. The rock formations are unprecedented. The cliffs and coastline is like something out of Jurrasic Park. The wildlife and puffins are gorgeous. The summer is amazing. It's a trip, an adventure and a truly WOW experience. Boom ....

sea kayaking around Bell Island was a unique and memorable experience. We also saw whales, dolphins and bald eagles along the way. Great day with a knowledgable, professional, and friendly team.

I am a marine biologist and my husband runs SCUBA charted for a living. We normally reside in the tropics; however, thanks to COVID19 we found ourselves back “home” in Newfoundland. Our wedding anniversary was coming up and we wanted to treat ourselves to an ocean adventure since we met through SCUBA diving. Ocean Quest offered small group snorkel tours so we thought “why not”? We easily booked online and showed up at Petty Harbour about 20 min before the scheduled departure. The guys took our temperatures and asked us standard COVID19 safety questions before allowing us to participate. Then we were kitted up in quality thick thermal gear. We headed out on their roomy RIB and spotted puffins, gannets, other birds and a few whales fairly early in our trip. We monitored the whales’ behaviour and interest before attempting to swim with them. I loved that the team were carefully reading the whales’ behaviour and ensured that encounters would not encroach on the whales’ natural activities. Unfortunately, for us the whales were not interested that day. We went on to explore some interesting coastal topography called Pirates’ Cove. There we swam and sloshed about in the kelp forest, spotted puffer fish and a school of capelin! The water was a shock on first immersion, but the thermal gear, including 7mm wetsuit, boots, hood, and gloves ensured that we forgot the cold for a good 40 minutes or so. We had a laugh and would recommend the trip! Ps. Thanks for the photos guys!
