Golden Buddha is located on the top of a mountain, facing the confluence of the Mekong and Sedon rivers. From this place you can enjoy a panoramic view of the peaceful city of Pakse.

There is not a lot to do or see in Pakse town but a must do is the golden Buddha. Great views of Pakse and the Mekong. I drove up but if you are feeling energetic you can flex your muscles and walk up the steps. You also get to cross the Mekong

The Golden Buddha is worth the trip up the mountain. From the top, there are stunning views looking over Pakse. You gain a great perspective for the overall size of the statue when you are right in front of it.

There is construction taking place to enhance the access to the surrounding area.

The reason the rating isn’t higher is because of the trash issue surrounding the entire site.

Pakse is a quiet town so there is plenty of time to walk up to “The Big Buddha”. We took a Tuktuk to the bottom, there are a lot of steps and it is very steep plus there is little shade on a hot day. The view at the top is great with the Mekong spread out below. There is also a stall selling soft drinks and souvenirs just behind . The road behind the Buddha is another option and there was a promising looking hotel there too, but we didn’t try it

We loved to ride up that small road to the top of the hill with our motorbikes. As reward you get to see the big buddah at close range and a beautiful view of the Mekong.

We visited this place by a Van. We wanted to walk up, but the hotel suggested that we would be better off going by a Van as the Tuk Tuk may not be safe. There was one huge Golden Buddha statue overlooking the Mekong river and the Pakse city, but there were 1008 other Golden Buddha statues with different postures. I would like to understand what is the significance of having so many of them. There was a temple which was very colourful and felt peaceful. The views were breathtaking. Worth a visit in the evenings to see the sunset.

One of the best panorama in Paksé. The Buddha is impressive, but the view is the best of the place. There are more than 30 other statues up to the mountain and a very colourful temple. The stairs are high but great if you are in good condition. It is also posible to drive from the steep paved road (5 km). There is another unknown walking trail that is higher : 4 km around the top of the mountain (250m high). Great panoramic views. There was no other tourists nor locals up there.

This is a sacred place for the locals where the businessman or other philanthropist contributed donations for numerous Buddha statue. There is one gigantic Buddha overlooking the Pakse city. There are beautiful Temples at the hill for the locals to visit for prayers too. Good place for panoramic view of Pakse city. It was less than 30 mins car ride from Pakse city centre which we arrange tour package with guide from Asia Top Travel for hassle free traveling. Worth a visit in Pakse.

The place, you can either drive or walk to pinnacle. On top, you will see a lot of monk statues and the biggest one. If you look forward from the top, you will see alomost of city. You could make sport at sunset, walk to the top of mountain. Fresh air is around you. If anyone who used to visit Budapest, you will have the same feeling with me when you stand at the Liberty statue.
