Came here with a naturalist to watch birds. Impressive finds. Spotted a number of waterfowl and most precious of all — a black necked crane! Went cycling here the other day but was buzzed by a local horse keeper to pay for “environmental protection fee”.

Had a very nice time exploring the lake. Full of wild birds on the lake with horses and yaks roaming freely. Great picture opportunity here. We paid CNY 150 for a driver to drive us around the lake on his SUV for 5 of us....More

The lake is simply stunning and the area is very serene. Taking a picture at any angle is just like a picture in the postcard. Wonderful colours. It is surrounded by mountains, with yak, sheep, horses and black pigs roaming carefree. Highly recommended in Shangrila.

Lake is nice, surounded by mountains. Water level varies during the year and sometimes is a bit low and then there are grasslands everywhere - you can walk there but be readdy to get messy. That is still ok. The worst thing are those enetrprising...More
