About
Owned by Philippe d'Orléans, younger brother of Louis XIV, the national estate of Saint-Cloud has no more castle, destroyed during a fire in 1870, but still offers 460 hectares of gardens, park and woods that represent a some of the best examples of classic French garden. Designed by André Le Nôtre, it is also one of the most attractive parks on the outskirts of Paris. Site labeled "remarkable garden".

The occupation of these grounds and heights over Paris by the Prussians in 1870 led to the Chateau de Saint-Cloud burning down, but the amount of history here is a lot to take in. You'll be afforded views over Paris, including of the Eiffel Tower and much of the city. There are placards showing the location and design of the original chateau. Originally, the woods and estate here ran all the way to Versailles and were connected, hence the royals' preference to hunt, walk, and ride here in this estate. Today, you'll still find remnants of its past grandeur, and it's a great place to hike or bike. Driving is possible, and there are several restaurants throughout the domaine. Different festivals take place here dependent on the time of year. A peaceful place to stroll and get away from the city hustle.

Before I came I looked up the schedule for the water fountains and even though they said they should be on they were not and I was very disappointed.
Regardless of the fountains not working this is still a very beautiful park and I am still glad we came and enjoyed a nice afternoon walking around.

The park covers an area of 460 hectares, making it one of the largest in the Île de France region.

I found the Parc St Cloud on my recent visit to Paris. Actually I found it by accident at the end of the Number10 Metro line when I went looking for the Albert Kahn Museum in Bologne one of the ritzier suburbs of Paris. I saw a sign pointing to the park and having nothing else to do I followed the direction across the river to the Park where I was pleasantly surprised by what I found,
I believe the chateau was destroyed during the Franco-Prussian war in the late 1800s but what remains of the gardens and landscaping shows what a grand place this would have been back in the day.
As my review title says it is a photographers heaven for the views back over Paris and the fountains, statues and other artifacts in the park. The days, yes days I went back for a total of 3 visits I was the only "tourist" there. I encountered a few joggers and some locals having a picnic lunch and a photographer doing a photoshoot with a couple of models.
It was great to set up and take a photo without the worry of a tour group walking in front of you as happens in Paris at that time of year.
Admittedly it is probably not everybody's cup of tea but if you are into photography or you want a nice quiet place to chill out and read a book then take the Number 10 metro to the end of the line, follow the signs and go across the river and enjoy the park.

I visited Saint Cloud one morning in September 2013. After taking the metro to the station, you need to walk across a bridge and then cross to the side with the park. It's quite a large park. It was quite a while before there were any statues or fountains. Then I ended up walking uphill for quite a while before I came across some of the gardens. There was a large pond where boys were sailing a toy boat. The red leaves of autumn had fallen in some areas enhanced the beautiful lush green of the grass and trees and gardens throughout this large park. At the top, there were orange trees all in a line. This was where you could see some of Paris from a distance, but it was an overcast day so it was a little grey and smoggy view of it.

This park is located near Paris but it's a lot less crowded and the views of Paris are amazing. All that is left from a palace that used to belong to famous people like Marie Antoinette and Bonaparte are the gardens, fountains, the base of the palace and a small building that know houses a small museum. Worth a visit for a walk or a picnic. There are a couple of restaurants in the park and activities during the Summer.

I live 20 mts from St Cloud Park. Just check the view from my house. In spring, summer, fall or winter, his woods welcome me with peace, birds, smells and fantastic views from Paris. No matter how bad the weather is, I always feel like home

With sweeping views of the entire Paris metropolitan area, this huge park is beautifully maintained, and immaculately planted with trees, shrubs, and flowers. There are even restaurants scattered within the park, as well as a "working" farm.
We have been visiting Paris for 30 years, and had never been here before. What a treat!

My first time in Paris I did not even think of spending time here, more so I don't even think I knew anything about it. This past trip it was suggested and I was dragged into it and it was easily one of the highlights of my trip. This is a massive park with many faces and areas to explore. You almost feel like you are in Versailles. What makes this park even more special, is that it doesn't come off as a tourist space. Locals walking their dogs, joggers, and people on a casual stroll. No troves, no guided tours, no hustle and bustle. Just... a slice of Parisian peace.

Take the time to visit this beautiful location situated to the East of Paris and easily accessed from St Cloud station. wonderful place to take a picnic and explore this huge park area. Make certain you take you walking shoes and have a good look around.

bonjour, nous allons nous rendre au grand feu samedi 9 septembre, avant de voir le feu que conseillez vous d'aller voir, nous aurons du temps entre 16h et le début du feu (dans ce parc il y a t'il quelque chose à voir en attendant ) merci de vos conseils

Il faut vérifier, mais je pense qu'une partie du parc sera fermée pour cause de préparatif du feu.
