The only part remaining of the original medieval castle is the tower of Simon de Montfort to which the existing forecastle was added in the 14th century. The main body, which was built between 1530 and 1545 in the style of the Italian Renaissance, boasts façades decorated with sculptures which will undoubtedly be of special interest to the visitor. The various rooms are enriched by their antique furnishings. A chateau built in the middle ages and loving restored by in 1961 by Roger and Marcelle Dichamp. Interesting architecture because the facade is medieval, typical gascon but you go around the back and it is totally renaissance.A lovely small formal garden on the south...More

Georgeous and interesting treasure, containing a medieval fortification, a Renaissance chateau and beautiful gardens. Excellent guide who, while not fluent in English, took pains to make sure everyone had the information they needed. The story of how the place was saved and restored is wonderful...More

An old chateau in a beautiful position. Interesting guided tour (largely in French). Well worth a visit - particularly if paired with a visit to the wondeful 'Le Petit Feuillant' restaurant next door.

This chateau is not too large but very representative of the regional chateaux. The tour guide speaks predominantly French but does have some English speaking skill.

Standing in the center of the tiny village of Gramont, the Chateau and gardens take one back to the days of old even though the chateau was actually lived in until not too long ago. I loved it.
