Llinderoff it's the smallest but the most beautiful of the three "castles" built by Ludwig II of Bavaria. It has marvelous rooms, specifically the king chambers, and a wonderful scenic garden with cascades, staircases, rose gardens, the extravagant wagnerian grotto, exotic pavilions. This alpine region has several touristic attractions around the "schloss" like the charming village of Ettal and it's... More

Not a very long tour but very pretty and worth going inside. We saw this castle as part of a day tour, and this was my favorite. I didn't get a picture of it, but there was a beautiful swan in a pond on the short walk to the castle. Our guide inside the castle spoke English well and gave... More

Cute little Castle that has a little walking path and a beautiful garden. It's best in the summer if you want to see the garden and fountain. In the end it is a must see.

We can highly recommend this region. Stayed at Ettal next to the Abbey and enjoyed Linderhof Palace (small but lovely). The town of Obermmergau was awesome, the Ettal Abbey was amazing and there are plenty of other attractions nearby.

from the magical table that goes through the floor and is set in the kitchen below to the wondrous gold inlayed wall ornaments and one of the first electrical power plants built by Tesla for the king. Linderhof is a must place to see especially if you are near or at Neuschwanstein on of his other castles.

We visited in January and the castle was amazing with the snow and blue sky. The interior was so beautiful and exquisite, definitely worth a visit!!!

We were extremely lucky to be the only two people during our guided tour. Inside the palace is simply awesome. Neuschwanstein Castle is grand, but the interior of Linderhof Palace is a must see when in the area.

We visited this palace as the first stop of our Bavarian tour. It was smaller than expected, but as one learns more about the history of King Ludwig II it begins to make sense. During the winter time all of the outdoor sculptures are covered and protected. The water fountains are also covered over. The interior is not heated and... More

We went as part of a tour to Neuschwanstein castle, visitng Linderhof Schloss first. Small compared to the other palaces/castle, but nonetheless so much history to learn. We went in winter, hence the gardens were closed as everything was covered in snow/ice.
