This marina is the only show in town and they have the monopoly on all docking / parking truck trailer / moorage etc .
I have been going to this marina for 30 yrs and have seen management change hands a few times .
Now that the newest owners have multiple marinas they should have a idea on dock safety and the necessity on having good breakwater for safe launching and loading ,
Was sadly disappointed on seeing OSB board and other tripping hazards on the dock that constantly bounces around due to the poorly installed and lack of proper breakwater . My friend caught his shoe on it and nearly twisted his knee. đŸ˜³đŸ˜³
Let’s get with it , it’s 2023 and u have been raking in the cash from LNG /Kemano and Al the boaters for numerous years .
After numerous close calls observed on launching and loading u would think that some effort would be made to fix that eye sore of a breakwater and tighten it up , rather leaving a huge gap right where we have to dock our boats . Anyone whoever fished the kitimat Douglas channel knows the seas are rough by the marina 75% of the time especially late afternoons , the only reason I am giving 3 stars not 1 is due to the manager and staff have been great , but things start at the top , so let’s get with it

Nice marina but very costly. Pay to park, pay to put in, pay to moor, and pay a deposit for a key fob (which you could theoretically get back but the marina closes so early you’ll never see that again). Also, if you’re a smaller vessel, make sure you get moorage well inside the facility. The seas can get pretty rough in the evening and the outer docks are pretty exposed despite the small log boom breakwater. If you’re moored broadside to the constant waves, it’s seriously rough. Otherwise, they have fuel, nice staff, freshwater flush and good facilities. Something else to consider (not the marina’s fault) the local fishermen can be pretty snarky and impatient as they all rush out after work and back again at sunset. Overall for me it wasn’t worth it. Next time I’ll just go to Port Edward or Rupert. Same amount of travel time due to the winding Kitimaat Village Road.

Came back from a day of fishing.

Was a complete gong show at the dock.

A guy was cleaning his fish in the middle of the walkway on the concrete dock. It was the most inconsiderate display of disrespect for other people trying to use the dock not to mention the he had no idea how to clean a fish. Blood and fish guts everywhere. They provide a fish cleaning table ...USE IT!! People are just disgusting.

4 boats in front of us. Guy in front took over half hour to just get his truck & trailer backed in. If you don’t know how to load or unload your boat you probably should NOT own a boat!!!

Parking at the top space in front of the boat launch is just inconsiderate and rude. Give the people loading their boats room. Get out of the way!!!!

As this comedy show was really pissing us off. We finally just pulled down on the inside (not near the dock) we drive the boat on the trailer and it took all of 4 minutes to load the boat.

It’s really sad that people have come to having ABSOLUTELY no consideration for anyone else. EVER! Just a sad display of common sense and decency for other people and fish.

The marina should be closely monitored and managed better as it just going to get worse with LNG coming in!!!
