The welcome atmosphere makes this place a joy to visit. I have visited this lovely location on previous visits and it has never failed to be a very good thing. I love the local art. The gift shop is full of excellent gift items just waiting to be discovered. Don’t miss out , visit this little gem, if your travels take you to Kitimat.

Very nice building with a thorough history of Kitimat. There are many displays to enjoy and a small gift shop on the first floor. On the second floor, they had a temporary display of flamingo dancing. Very nice.

The museum was a nice surprise for my 10 year old son and myself. We really enjoyed looking at all the animals and there was so many that blended in, that it took awhile to spot them.
Also...some really cute and pretty souvenirs here.

It is like stepping into the 50’s at this little museum...Kitimat did not exist until 1954 and the exhibits are from that time...They have a wonderful gift shop a must stop and see....

While staying with family in Kitimat for the first time, we visited the museum to find out a little bit more about the history of the place. It's located right next to the Mall in the town centre and very accessible. The exhibits are very well laid out and it was very informative and interesting.
There's a little souvenir shop in the museum too. Entrance to the museum is free but there's a donation box should you wish to make one towards keeping the place running.
A very enjoyable visit, thank you.

Small and local museum telling the long history of the area and its growth. Lots of information gathered here and the place where my other half grew up 50+ years ago. Interesting to see all the places that had not changed that much from the early days, but then the huge changes later on. Lots of fun and well worht the look around.
