About
Located 20 minutes south of Lac La Biche, Christy Creek Honey produces local honey and other hive products. It is a small, family run business in the heart of summer blooms. Christy Creek Honey offers hive tours by appointment (May-August). Learn about bees, taste a sample of their honey, hear their buzzing, see the scenery and blooms, and smell the fresh county air. Bee themed and locally made items can be purchased in the gift shop. In later summer, once the bees have enough honey to share, you can visit the gift shop to buy honey.

This tour was immersive, educational, and interesting. Rob and Joanne are a lovely couple with a beautiful farm. They were great hosts and tour guides. Joanne took and sent tons of great photos for free. We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the Lac La Biche area.

I had a wonderful experience as a guest on the tour of the bees at Christy Creek Honey. It was easily the HIGHLIGHT of my trip to Lac La Biche this past summer. Fun, safe, clean, and most of all - educational! I was blown away by Rob’s endless knowledge on bees and their behaviour. I had a ton of questions, and not one of them went unanswered! If you get the opportunity to visit this apiary, I strongly recommend to not hold back on any queries you might have for the duration of the Bee Tour. Oh, and not to mention, the honey is SUPERB! I bought a large jar and had it in my tea every morning until it ran out. Thanks again to the very kind and hospitable Joanne and Rob Wicker from Christy Creek Honey! I had an awesome first visit and it surely won’t be my last.

Christy Creek Honey offers a unique and informative experience that can only be explained as the “bee’s knees”!
Joanne offers photos at no cost that capture your bee keeping moments, while Rob gives you a close up of the hives and shares a wealth of knowledge.
Afterwards these lovely hosts brought us to their greenhouse to graze on some vegetables while we further discussed the world of bees then went shopping in a boutique filled with honey and bee goods.
I highly recommend visiting Christy Creek Honey and anticipate going again with more family and friends!
Tips:
Bring your own rubber boots if you can
Long haired friends, tying your hair back is a good idea
Bee ready to learn

Our family really appreciated the experience that Rob and Joanne provided of their lovely farm! They were personable and casual which helped to calm the minor apprehension we each had to meeting the bees. Their knowledge and passion for the bees was incredible as they had answers for all our questions. The kids even got to hold a bee in their hands! Our respect for these little creatures, and their keepers, has multiplied after learning so much.
The final stop in the shop was a treat too. We got to have a taste of the raw honey and selfishly bought a lot of it to take home with us, among some other items, because it is just so darn good! Also, Joanne was kind enough to take photos of our experience and texted them to us at no extra cost.
We would definitely recommend this outing.

We had a pre season tour. It was too cold to open the hives. But we had an amazing and informative bee lesson. We have come away with so much more knowledge and appreciation for these little creatures. Made our day! Will recommend to anyone who will listen
