I discovered Plant Paradise Country Gardens last year. The gardens are outstanding, and Lorraine is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Visiting is like having a new friend who just happens to know everything that you want to know about plants and gardening. Highly recommended.

I spent 3 days in October 2017 and had a very pleasant experience. Lorraine was very prompt in replying all emails and accommodated all my wishes in terms of arrival, breakfast, etc.

It is a very nice, clean place. You do have to share a bathroom, however if there are no other guests you have this beautiful place with huge living room and patio all to yourself.

As a bonus you can take some trails to have a short walk and to enjoy nature.

We’ve been to Plant Paradise several times now and have always marveled at the beautiful display of colours and variety of plants. We always come away with new ideas for our garden, inspired by what we saw and experienced here. The owners are very helpful and extremely knowledgeable. We’ve learned so much from them - our gardens are so much healthier after attending their workshops. The plants we have bought here have thrived in our gardens year after year.

We had the most wonderful time looking at all of the plants and walking through forests and many trails . Running streams and giant pond with plenty of wildlife. Some great ideas for us to do to our own garden.. The owner Lorraine was so nice and super friendly to us and took time out of her busy schedule to talk about all the plants and help us with a map of where to walk. As we are both elderly we couldn't walk all of the gardens and forest trails and wish we could of as it was so gorgeous. This is all done by a married couple and we were so impressed with how much love and work goes into this. We bought a few plants to take home with us..One is called a Papaya Popsicle.. Plants that we had never seen before but Lorraine explained how to tend to it and how it will come up every year as a perennial. Such a perfect day. I really suggest that you go with good walking shoes and take your time and relax and take in all of the beauty of nature there. There is not one thing negative about this place and we will be back for sure. An hour drive for us but worth it ! Thank you Lorraine for being so wonderful and for what you have made for all of us to enjoy.. You are truly an angel.. R&J

Me and my family visited this place without too much to do in mind and this place amazed us in every respect. We were so overwhelmed with the landscaping and gardens around we did not bother to go through the trails and other pars of it. It is very quite and natural. Planning to visit again and highly recommend if someone wants to experience pure nature..

Well worth another visit!

If you are into perennials this botanical garden is well worth a visit and it was filled with colour. We spent a couple of hours wandering around the nature trails and the gardens, and enjoyed it all. The formal gardens are especially notable for the colour harmonies, textures and varieties of its plantings all created with perennials. Even more inspiring is that it is all done organically. Amazing!

We followed the route on the map given to us on our arrival and really loved all the different areas of this botanical garden. It was great to be able to chat with the friendly and very knowledgeable staff that where able to help identify plants. The gardens were gorgeous and immaculately kept. There were such beautiful flowers and a diversity of bees and interesting insects. The nature trails were relaxing and there was a mix of different areas to enjoy. We especially loved the trail that followed the creek and would definitely go back!

We drove for an hour to buy plants and when we arrived we could see a lovely show flowerbed which ran along the back of the garden center. I was keen to get ideas for my purchases so started walking towards this flowerbed . The owner stopped me in my tracks about 30 feet from the bed and told us that we had to pay $8 each to get any closer ! She said we could look from there for free ! We thought she was joking so I explained that we had come to buy and just wanted to see the plants first. She refused to allow us to take one step closer without paying. I told her we did not want to walk the trails just buy some plants but she said we had to pay or not look at the flowerbed !
We did take a quick look at the plants for sale ( trying not to glance over at the forbidden flowerbed !). Despite claiming to grow all the plants on site we could see many with the same "Proven" brand label that Sheridan nurseries sell. The prices were about 50% higher than our local nursery.
There appeared to be only one flowerbed as Patricia noted in the review below. This is not a botanical garden and to charge $8 is ridiculous.

My wife and I were looking for a quiet place to get away from things, but easy to get to without spending hours on the road. Plant Paradise turned out to be perfect. The B&B turns out to be the 2nd floor of an immaculately kept house with private entrance, bath, and cooking facilities. An elevated deck gives a great view of the surrounding gardens, all gorgeous and each slightly different from the others, There is a variety of woodland walking paths out the back door for morning exploring, and not far up the road is an entrance to the Humber Valley heritage trail. The McMichael Collection (great gallery with Group of 7 works), as well as nearby Kleinburg and other picturesque towns make for pleasant day outings. Lorraine and Robert were excellent and thoughtful hosts, and the breakfast included a range of options, including sourdough buckwheat toast. Highly recommended!

Plant Paradise Country Gardens is a mecca for plant lovers. Owners Rob and Lorraine have created wonderful and unique botanical gardens which need to be appreciated multiple times throughout the season to get a true sense of their vision. The greenhouses are clean and well kept and provide an opportunity to purchase many of the plant species from the gardens. The extensive trails are also worth seeing if you have the time. Overall, this is a great place to spend a few hours and definitely try to take in one of Lorraine's workshops!
