This is a nice spot to explore specially during AUtumn because it has a swinging bridge overlooking the waterfalls, a beautiful fountain, and nice hiking trails. The bridge ,fountain and waterfall is very close to the small parking spot. It is best to make a reservation because parking is limited.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten November 2, 2023

Perfect for a short, scenic hike. However, the high entry fee and car-only access are drawbacks. It’s discriminatory that people only with cars are allowed to visit !!Visited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten July 1, 2024
- GrahamP113Witham, United Kingdom2,042 contributionsWalk in the woodsThis was recommended by Canadian relatives. We decided to take a drive out to visit. What a beautiful area to drive and the park, which can only be reached by driving, limited spaces so consider pre-booking in full season. It has several walks with very well marked and maintained routes. A lot of the route is on paths so very accessible although lots of steps. Fantastic bridges across the small waterfalls make it an ideal place to spend an hour or soVisited September 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten September 11, 2024

My friend and I wandered in, on foot, without a penny in our pockets. The place was deserted on a weekday afternoon. Right away we were approached by a guy on a 4 wheeler, telling us we had to pay $5.00 per person to walk there. We explained we would only be 20 minutes, just going for a local walk. He would have nothing to do with that, we had to pay or leave. We left!

I booked 2 picnic spots for group pf 60 people.Paid money for it. In our 2 picnic spots, there were at least 10 more groups who occupied the area and park authority did not do anything about it. Parking area is tooooo small. We had to park our cars outside and 10 of our cars were towed and individual person had to pay $350 to the tow truck company by going to Orangeville to get our cars back. I will never go back there....................

Drove to Belfountain from Toronto. It was a Saturday, and since both my friend and I are new drivers, we avoided highways and got there via Mississauga rd in just 45 minutes. We loved it. Road there is peaceful, almost empty, and after passing Brampton, you'll see tons of beautiful farms and tall trees.
The conservation area itself has some great hiking paths to explore and lovely picnic spots
by the River, which is well worth the 5$/head entrance fee. We also accidentally discovered a great scenic path to drive, just beyond the conservation park (continuing on Forks of the Credit Rd) which is a must-do.
Great spot for a quick 1 day roadtrip, picnic and hiking!

Day trip in summer. Going out of the hassle and bustle of GTA. Paid parking is available. The restrooms are clean. You can have a picnic and BBQ.

We headed this way during the Thanksgiving weekend to admire the fall colours. We chose this park as we'd never been. The drive through Caledon was like a fairy tale. Absolutely stunning fall scenery! We drove down several side roads and were amazed. Then as we approached the town of Belfountain there was a traffic jam. It turned out half of the GTA flocks to this park. But WHY??? The park is tiny for a conservation area. There are several much bigger and more picturesque parks in Milton and Hamilton. There is one very short trail - 600m. There is a 30 minute time limit for the picnic tables - ridiculous!!! But above all - most of the trees in the park are evergreens do there's hardly any fall colours to be seen here! Save yourself the $7 per person and lot's of disappointment ans SKIP THIS PARK!

A cute, well maintained and easy conservation area. Reviewing ahead it looked like it could be costly so we:
1. Parked on Bush St. Maybe a five minute walk into the park to saving the parking fee.
2. The Credit Valley Conservation guide 2018 also states park admission is free if you arrive “via active transportation”, and we did by walking over.
Joke was on us however because no one was working to pay (on a Monday in June). Haha. A fun side trip nonetheless.

It's wise to get there before 10am if you want to have no issue getting a parking space before all the people who have rented picnic areas take them all up. The park opens at 9am. Cost is $5.00/adult. Trail map is provided. There are washrooms in the parking lot area. Unfortunately, there is some renovation going on by the falls so its not quite as pretty around that part as usual but that's temporary.
The park has been pesticide sprayed so Mosquitos Etc were no issue while hiking. Trails are well marked and maintained. Trails are not suitable for strollers, wheel chairs etc due to the many many tree roots and ️️rocks which mAke the paths so beautiful and interesting. Trail shoes or hiking shoes are such a better and safer idea than flip flops and sandals! Bring water. And leave no garbage anywhere. Was sad to see some of that ( water bottles) along the trails.
We walked the gorge loop partway then did the crows nest loop ( 1km easy to walk) and then continued for awhile on the Trimble trail before heading back to do the other end of the gorge loop back to the parking lot. The Trimble trail is part of the Bruce Trail and does not loop back. Very nice views down the gorge and you can follow along to the Forks of the Credit river.
when you leave, you can grab some ice cream just outside the entrance to the park or get some coffee and yummy large cookies at the cafe. Erin is close by and has a cute main street with lots of shops and places to eat. Pop by there for a late lunch.
It's a good place for the family and dog to hike. The suspension bridge over the falls is fun too and the pond is pretty. There are caves but they weren't open to the public.
Highly recommend this area. Very picturesque.

My family & I went here for our annual Family Fall Photos. We usually do them up in Gravenhurst near my parents house, but this year we made our parents come to us. So we headed to Belfountain Conservation Area. There were tons of spots to take some really cool picture. There were a few cannons laid out, and an old looking jail cell you can go in. A few different hiking/walking trails and a bridge that goes across the river in front of the waterfall. A few places to sit down but not many. Lots of walking. There are many areas that are wheelchair accessible, but you couldn't be able to get everywhere in the park that way. We had a great afternoon.

It was a nice place but entry fee ruined our experience. $10 parking fee and $6.5 each person entry was way too much for a small conservation area. There was nothing much to do. Suspension bridge, Hike and small artificial waterfall were nice but not something extra ordinary, you would pay $36 for 4 persons. I was very disappointed. I have been to several other parks better than this for free or just with parking fee. Not going there again. Not recommended as well.

Not really ! For the picnic area and a little walk yes - but after that in the actual trails not so much - but can still be nice to visit :-)

I would like to know if it is possible for me to get to see the waterfall, seeing as the area is closed?
If so, how do I do that. I am staying nearby for the weekend.
