Venue and surrounding grounds are lovely. The food however was awful, pretentious tripe. Style over substance in spades with most people leaving most of the starter and main course due to the chefs desire to plate what he/she thought was tasty food. Tough beef served luke warm but the hey it looked good, hard vegetable and a potato fritter with... More

Dear El W, I am very concerned and confused to read this review as we pride ourselves on excellent catering and service standards as previous reviews testify. Also, our wedding/event season at St Donat's Castle does not start until June this year so what event are you referring to in this review? Please can you contact me at your earliest... More

This place plays home to an international school. The castle has a history to rival few and the views from the top lawn over the Bristol Channel on a clear day make for a wonderful afternoon picnic or just relaxing seat with a book. Should you want, a walk down to the seafront through the various landscaped gardens will equally... More

Have been here many times, a long time ago during school for archery and assault course and with family later for craft and art shows, days out, cinema screenings, classical concerts served with tea and cake and a brilliant halloween evening with scary storytelling. It's a stunning place which I have seen used as a wedding venue. It has its... More

Having lived in the Vale of Glamorgan for over 30 years this is a place we use for very many different things! we often go to music evenings here seeing Kiki Dee, George Melee, Abba tributes, ACDC tributes and many more. We have attended craft fayres and Christmas fayres both inside and outside in the grounds and events such as... More

Just been here for a wedding and I can't praise the place highly enough. If the buildings, rooms, stunning views and overall atmosphere aren't enough the food was first class and the staff could not be better. We spent the whole day here and were treated like Kings and Queens, nothing was too much trouble and we will remember it... More

We recently attended a wedding here and we were very impressed with the location, the building and the standards within. Admittedly, the weather was glorious, but the views from the gardens and the well restored building were also superb. The wedding took place in the main part of the castle and was beautifully presented. Staff were very helpful and we... More

This is an amazing castle with some amazing architecture. Didn't manage to go inside but the outside is amazing. This is well worth a visit. The buildings are amazing and so are the grounds. There are amazing views from this castle too of the sea.
