Will never forget the sight of the cute little puffins, seemingly oblivious to the tourists. You can get quite close to them and they are truly a sight to behold. The bluebells & campions were also in bloom whilst we were there so the island...More

Booked to stay on the island for one night, through the Welsh Wildlife Trust, so that we could get the best out of visiting Skomer. We were not disappointed. We saw lots of birds and I was especially surprised to see a short eared owl...More

Step onto the island and despite the 200 visitors a day that are permitted to land it's like being in a different, ancient world. I arrived towards the end of the puffin season, having booked an amazing photography tour with Andy Davies and had a...More

Before I start my review, if you are planning on a landing visit get to Martins Haven (the sailings go from here), very, very early, as the queue for the ticket office is long, we arrived at 6.30. Absolutely worth the wait, unfortunately the sea fog...More

We were here just five years ago and would come more often if we could. A place of outstanding natural beauty and wildlife. We came specifically to see the puffins and we were not disappointed, the water was like Puffin Soup and the hillside dotted...More

Despite missing the Puffins, we loved our day on the island. What a very special place. It's a different world, wild and unspoilt. I wouldn't hesitate to go back to see all the birds, the porpoises and seals again.

The puffins walk across the footpath, between the people, to their burrows.... very close indeed! No special equipment necessary. I had a telephoto lens and a phone and got great pictures with both.
