The Balancing Rock trail is a well marked and laid out trail to get from the road out to the coast where the Balancing Rock is. There are frequent wooden boardwalks to keep you above the swampy ground. There are lots of signs that detail the flora and fauna of the region and give you information on the area. The climb down to the viewing platform has been updated and has a great staircase with railings which felt safe in the misty weather. The hike out to the rock takes about 15-20 minutes so it is not too taxing on all manner of ages and conditions. They have done a super job making this natural landmark accessible to the public.

The path in is an easy hike in and out. Yes there are MANY steps down...and an equal number up....but definitely worth it to get your cardio workout. Was something to behold at the bottom

A nice hike. There are lots of stairs but they are in the shade making the climb easier. Such a unique nature wonder.

After years of saying we were going to visit Balancing Rock we finally did. It’s a great little hike, about 3 km return, but if you can’t do stairs this is not the trail for you. To get down to the rocks you have to traverse 235 stairs. It’s worth it, but not easy. Nova Scotia has so many beautiful little spots like this. It’s so worth getting out there and seeing all that you can!

The path is not difficult and is fairly well groomed going down is fairly easy but coming back up 235 stairs is a little hard
