Unusual opportunity to learn about tropical fruits in a beautiful setting

Good guidings in a beautiful setting and generous tasting samples. The walk to the site is tiring in warm weather, but beautiful and worth the effort.

Well worth to spend some time there. Amazing what two people created within their lifetime. Great guided tour offered with lot of valuable information on tropical fruits and on the ecosystem.

We visited as part of a guided tour of the island of La Gomera. We only had about 20 minutes there which wasn't really long enough. Good to see all the clearly labled bushes and trees, many of them still bearing fruit. Interesting fact between standard and Canaries bananas and one which I'd not picked up on previously - but... We got on a 20 euro guided tour of this garden, it was all in German... Too expensive, especially when we did not understand very much.

It was nice to see all the different things growing. They had labelled the trees and plants so you could distinguish what they were. The grounds were a bit untidy with lots of dead foliage scattered about. The gift shop was well stocked and they offered a few free samples.

Enjoyed the excursion guide's talk on how bananas are cultivated. Also saw an avocado tree for the first time!

I visited the Fruit Garden on Tuesday 17th December 2013. I arrived at the 10am opening time, and I was shown round by a British lady volunteer. She was friendly and very knowledgeable. The tour lasted about 1½ hours and we stopped for about 12 tastings. It was a well-organized tour and I learned so much. The tour introduced me... More

This fruit garden is a gem, with so many different varieties of fruits. The tours can be in English and German. The tour was well though out, with fruit to taste all along the way. We learnt a lot about the different fruit varieties and were given a sheet with all the fruit names on afterwards to keep. It's amazing... More
