Lovely wine and cheese plus a tour of the farm. A good and reasonably priced activity for the family.

As one reviewer put it, Domaine du Croc du Merle is a hidden gem! Sadly, when we went they weren't open for tours, but we were able to sample some cheese and wine. The woman who helped us was phenomenal and her English was superb! She taught us so much about the wines in the region. We purchased a bottle, some cheese, and chips and found a table out front to sit and enjoy. It was a perfect afternoon.

While working in the local area, we have visted Croc Du Merle many times and bought many bottles of wine! The "4 winds" red is a particular favourite of mine, and the cheese is fantastic also! A definite must for any wine fans!

Situated in the countryside just a few minutes from the village and the campsite in the area, this is worth a visit. We didn't tale a tour but tasted a few wines and made some purchases! Recommend a visit if you are staying nearby.

Fantastic few hours - Highly recommend!!

We first learnt about Croc du Merle when the wine was on sale at our campsite and really enjoyed the bottle of Rose we bought.
The farm was 5 minutes from the site and only 10€ for 2 adults (free for kids) so it was a no brainer to visit for a tour. The tour is done in either English or French and you’re shown around the winery and explained all about how they make their wines and what is made there. Then follows an explanation of the dairy part and a demo of the cows being milked and meeting the calves, some only a few hours old!

In the end we were taken into their warehouse for a cheese and wine tasting, including their made Cassis jam, syrop etc.

Everything tasted unbelievable and such great prices that we came away with a box of wine and every cheese on offer!

The kids loved it as much as us and was so interesting to learn about a local farm and local produce.

For the price they charge, such a fantastic few hours and love to support such local produce. Highly recommend!!

We stayed on the nearby campsite and visited the shop twice. The second visit was better with the young woman giving us lots of info and loads to taste. Wine was good, as was cheese and cassis. Honey is delicious! Well worth a visit with some money in your pocket.

Working farm and vineyard not to be missed

Situated at the edge of the village and a few minutes walk from the campsite it is open by appointment for tours of the farm and vineyard or simply pop into the shop. If the shop isn't open there is a bell which brings someone from the house. If you can get on a tour - they have been run by the staff from the campsite it's well worth it as you get a tour of the dairy and can watch the cows self milk and then you get a chance to do a wine tasting including some of the cheeses that they produce. The wine is excellent , white rose or red with sparkling white and rose. They also produce and sell cheeses, cassis jams and cassis liqueur. Whilst we were there a family bought over 500 euros of wine, it's that good. The family who own the domaine are charming and have a pretty good command of English but it does help if you have a little French. Not important but it makes it all that much easier.
