The mayors office here is home to the Questura that Montalbano frequently visits, usually parking his car just outside and running up the stone steps. We wandered past in the evening and noticed it was open (still at 7.30pm) so went inside. A really friendly...More

This is hard to believe that it is actually the Mayor's office as it is identical to the commissioner's office in the TV series Inspector Montalbano, down to the chairs in the corner. The steps outside are used as the Vigata police station steps. Then...More

Not a lot to add to what others have said. If you are a fan you will recognise the room, and the door through which Montalbano enters and exits to see his boss. The rest of the building is still a working Town Hall, so...More

On entering the town hall there is a desk on the right where you can pay to join the tour of the mayor's office. This is an impressive room with a tapestry and insignia. It is here that Montalbano is filmed, this being the office...More

The exterior served as the early police station for Montalbano and quite why they chose to move this to Ragusa when they still film in Scicli for the Commissioner's office only the producers could say. It is an impressive town hall and the Mayor's office...More

Had to go and see the mayors office, which doubles as the office for Montalbano's boss. Very good guide and lots of photos. The street outside is the exterior shot for the police station.

Familiar from the Montalbano programmes, this fine, lavishly decorated room opens on to a balcony with a view over the UNESCO World Heritage Via Mormino Penna.

As a fan of Commissario Montalbano, I enjoyed seeing the room where his chief held court, with its beautiful period furniture and view over the piazza .

We visited Scicli on a day trip from Modica. It's a beautiful town which deserves many more visitors. We've never watched a full episode of either the original Montalbano series, or the Young Montalbano. However - because we were in town, we visited this place,...More
