The museumship Pommern is the world’s only 4-masted sailing ship still in its original state. On board you can explore the ship from hold to charthouse. The ship is a part of the Aland Maritime Museum, an exciting museum for children and adults alike. The exhibitions are filled with dramatic stories, fantastic objects and lots of interactivities. The Aland Maritime Museum is open all year round, the museumship Pommern between May and September.

The museumship Pommern wasn't open - closed for maritime restoration work - and some of the artifacts are now in the maritime museum temporarily - BUT it's still worth a walk to see the impressive ship - it's huge

Museum Ship Pommern is undergoing renovations in Marienhamn dock. The ship was easy to find since the island is very small. It is closed for public 2017 but you can admire it from the shore

Built on the Clyde for a german shipping company in the early 1900's, its an impressive ship that ended its career working out of the Aland Islands. Its under repair at present and was closed to visitors but its still impressive

It's an easy bike ride or walk from the town center. The ship is beautiful but apparently undergoing some renovations on the deck so we were told the museum wouldn't be open in 2017. It's still worth seeing the outside and the beautiful waterfront.

Visiting the Pommern was really very interesting, we only had 3 hours and I could've easily spent more time there. The history of the ship is told well and you can start to imagine what it must've been like to travel from Australia to Europe...More

that's really must visit place, when you are in Mariehamn! Pommern is a big, historical ship, where you can walk everywhere. You can see all the ship rooms and decks. Highly recommend to visit!

This is a wonderful piece of history, the last ship of its kind anywhere, a steel hulled sailing cargo ship, and a must see when in Mariehamn. You tour the ship at your own pace. The exhibits give a fascinating glimpse in to a way...More
