Disappointing
Apr. 2020
I was disappointed by this site. There is a fee to visit this house. It is not expensive however, when compared with the rest of places you can see around, it is expensive as the others are more interesting and do not charge.

The house is falling apart. It is not very well-kept. Curation is very poor. There is no information on what you see. Art is not appealing. Colombia has very impressive artists. Whatever is exhibited here, it is not impressive. They could do a much better job.

Another gem to spend an hour visiting!
Feb. 2020
Check the open hours, but do visit...right on the main square with lots of artwork and easy to read (in Spanish) plaques. Worth a look see, especially if you want to test your Spanish.

Nice, small museum
Jul. 2019 • Family
It is a small museum but very interesting to better understand the life and art of Acuña. Includes films, sculptures, paintings, carpets, his collections.

Worth visiting for the building alone and the art is varied and interesting

You walk through the artworks to the wonderful old courtyard
There are some great sculptures - the choir being a favourite of mine
And the murals also outstanding

The Colombian Da Vinci

An awesome place to visit and get to know a genius person that lived not so long ago.

The paintings and sculptures are something else, even if you don't like art that much a little bit of history of his life, and work would make you love this place.

Is a change of perspective.

Great Museum and Home of a Colombian Artist
Jan. 2018 • Family
This is the home of an interesting Colombian artist who seems to be relatively little known in the US or anywhere outside Colombia. This makes it all the more worthwhile to visit. He lived here and the place is both museum to his art and his home. It has both a large collection of his own art, including paintings, sculptures, and tapestries, plus other art which he himself collected. Some of the art he did to decorate his home.

It is located right on the Plaza Mayor in the heart of town and we found it to be one of our top places to visit in town.

Beautiful museum with a lot of paintings and antiques to admire. The tour guide was very nice and informative. All antiques were very well preserved.

Fascinating range of paintings, murals and sculptures
Feb. 2018 • Solo
Didn't know the artist but his work and associated exhibits are definitely worth seeing. Acnuna's influences include pre-Colombian culture, colonial art & contemporary painting (he lived 1904-1993 & was encouraged by Picasso). Murals surrounding courtyard are like nothing I've seen before. Shame I couldn't find a book of his work to take away.

Suprisingly neat!
Jan. 2018
Knew nothing about the artist, but that made no difference. The house was worth the visit; the art a plus; and the quirky collection of other art even better. Acuna's incorporation of indigenous art was really neat.

As a foreign visitor, I didn't know anything about the artist, which made this site a bit less interesting. The house itself is somewhat historically beautiful, but the art collection is odd, not in an enjoyable or thought provoking way. Some of the art just looks amateur or perverse. It's mostly contemporary. I would a struggle to recommend this to anyone over other museums or activities around town. Simply not something interesting to visit.
