Lovely grounds and well maintained.

Not very crowded and easy to maneuver.

Great story about the entry of the Catholics and their interactions with the indigenous people of the area.

A little off the beaten path but worth a visit.

Loved the way fossils were integrated into the masonry.

If you like religious art and history it's a good place to visit. Building it's similar to other monasteries in Boyacá, but beautiful and in a very good state of conservation.

Highly recommend this place for it’s long history and excellent condition. Nice setting up in the hills.
Not lazy Susan in dining room.

The architecture is nice, the gardens are pretty, I liked the place. I enjoyed more bc I was with a tour guide that was explaining the history and context.

The place is very quiet, peace full and we feel respect for all the antiques and customs there was there through all the history. It’s important to visit if you want to get some general culture about the Spanish and catholic mindset.

Interesting option to spend a reflective and quiet afternoon in a Dominican monastery founded in 1620. There is a striking depiction of Jesus Christ's face in the church, beautiful courtyard, one can also learn some historical facts about monastic life and see fossil encrusted floors and walls. Well worth a visit

Despite VdL being a beautiful town, I feel like a visit to this monastery is the highlight of my stay in VdL. The 5k COP entrance fee is nothing compared to the views you’ll get inside. A stunning inside garden area and some smaller rooms with interesting artifacts. I was happy I decided to keep pushing on my MTB to the top of the steep hill.

A nice place to spend an hour or so, the serenity of that place was remarkable. There are a few religious objects to see, though they will probably not blow your mind.

Very beautiful and quiet place, so peaceful. The garden with the well was beautiful. Well worth the drive, the last kilometre or so is a bit rough.

This is my favourite place in villa de Leyva, is far from the center of town, and it has a lot of history inside, it is very peaceful and beautiful.
