I visited at 26th December 2016, the second Christmas celebration for people in Flores. So there's no guard when we entered this place. No guard means free attraction! LOL. From parking area to lake we must tracking 15 minutes, many fallen trees that lay across the track so it's kinda hard to reach the lake. When we arrived at the... More

What a peaceful place. Just off the Trans Flores main road. It's a short walk from the gate where you pay the fee and where you sign in to the visitors book. Despite of the wonderful scenery a stale feeling over the entrence fee was left behind. This spot was realized under the trust of Swiss governement basad Swisscontact. I... More

On the road from Bajawa to Ruteng visit this beautifull lake. You need a small portion of luck when arriving. When the lake is covered in a fog there is not much to see. I could imagine that this will be disappointed. But if the lake is clear and you will find yourself alone with only local lakefishers on their... More

A nice enough lake but the 100k entrance fee is outrageous. Generally speaking, local/foreigner pricing tiers are understandable but needs to be kept within reason. Could do with some litter-picking.

This makes a nice trip out of town. The road from Ruteng is beautiful. It cost us $400000 for four of us to see the lake which is ridiculous for Indonesia. I would expect 10 times less! The lake is pretty but essentially nothing special. There is a small waterfall which is nice. Our highlight was spending an hour picking... More

From the mouton you should have a nice view on the lake. However, the made a huge concrete wall. Behind the wall as could be expected is a mess of plastic and stinking garbage.

The pathway to the lake is as unviting as the ruins of some wooden huts and of a half burned-down viewpoint. The place looks a bit dreary. While we were walking to and from the lake, leeches dropped down of the overhanging trees and bushes. A scary experience to remove one off you feet or legs! This made us decide... More
