This was my first kayaking experience ever and I’ll give it to Jason, there was no shortage of laughs and he had my nervousness wiped away by the time we had gotten in the water. There was a bunch of us that went and I’m sure every single one of us had the greatest time! Jason is definitely an asset to your team, Barb. He was very professional and helped us out in every way possible from being an awesome tour guide to feeding us snacks. Will definitely recommend your company to anyone and everyone I can. Thanks again for the most awesome experience and I’m sure we will see again soon!

What a great day we had on a guided tour by Jason Sooley of Wind at your back guided Adventures. We left from an area known as Spread Eagle. The winds were calm when we started and the winds stayed low all during our 3 hours. There were 4 of us on the tour including our guide, my son and wife and myself. I have always loved on the water, from my time as an open boat fisherman in Labrador to travelling many tours through out Atlantic Canada and beyond. This experience was quite different, being so close to the water was refreshing. The water was warm and colorful through out our tour.

My wife was quite apprehensive about going but Jason did a great job of ensuring her she would be ok and she was, she enjoyed it enough that we may even go back and do it again ot another location.

We paddled along the shore line and saw small beach birds, gulls and even a number of large bald eagles. The scenery was spectacular. We even stopped for a break mid way through our excursion.and had a small boil up including locally made treats. Jason was very knowledgeable about the area and kept us entertained all the while. Marleys code was a great place to stop.

If you are looking for a local excursion that provides you with an evening on the water this is one to try.

We had a great time on the water with Barb and Jason. The weather was perfect, sunset was amazing and we had lots of laughs. I was a bit nervous at first as I am a beginner kayaker but the kayaks were very stable and I felt really safe with these guys. Would definitely recommend doing a sea kayaking tour with Wind at You Back Guided Adventures.

I booked a hike with Barb and mentioned to her that it was my wife and my anniversary and that my wife liked dark chocolate. Barb took that and went above and beyond, from the behind the doors tour of the boat building museum to the tour of the heritage site in hearts delight, the photographer, the bubbly cider and cake she hiked to the top of sugar loaf mountain, the anniversary card with dark chocolate bars for my wife.... Barb is truly one of a kind who made our anniversary a memorable day!

I did a morning kayak with this company and I'm still in awe of the beautiful morning we had. I met tour guide Jason on the beach and explained to him my nervousness because of a previous kayaking experience I had in another province in the past and he immediately put me at ease, assuring me of his experience and the safety precautions in place. The equipment was well cared for and explained. We set out from Spread Eagle and the wind and water conditions could not be any better. Absolutely flat calm conditions. We got to see Eagles soaring, a family of momma and 3 baby otters playing, all kinds of sea life. It was just perfect. We stopped in a cove and had a little snack that was provided offering locally made tea buns and snowballs...coffee, water, hot chocolate. I cannot say enough about the experience. I felt totally comfortable on our paddle after the initial jitters and am so looking forward to my next adventure with you guys!

We did the Sunset Kayak tour and it was absolutely beautiful!!! We are not beginners, however, Jason (our guide) gave us a quick overview of safety and all of the equipment that we had with us. He was very knowledgeable about kayaking and had so much information about the area. I can't wait to go back again and visit the Gulch (wind permitting). Our group laughed and smiled the whole time. Amazing tour! Also, everything is in place (and provided) for covid-19 restrictions, you can feel very comfortable that all precautions are being taken very seriously.

The customer service here is beyond terrible. I don’t know where to begin, I booked a party of 8 and my own group arrived on time 25 minutes early. No one greeted us or even said hello when we arrived and got out of the car and we were the only group there. There was a man smoking a cigarette leaning on his car and just told us to move our car. No “hello, welcome, nice to meet you”. We walked around and then waited in the car for the other people to arrive. At 1:55, this same man came over to our car and asked where the rest of our party was. We told him they were to arrive any minute, and he was clearly mad and said they should have been on time and that we were putting everything behind schedule . I said they will be here any minute and he said “we have lives too and we shouldn’t be delaying things.”The other party and the rest of our party arrived just before 2pm and Susan (the other host) got out of the car. My husband went to speak to her to tell her how we had spoken to us and to ask for the owners number. We then learned that person was her husband Danny and at this point Danny flew out of the car and started yelling at us, telling us to “get the “f*@k out of here” and more of the same language. There were children present and the whole scene was unbelievable. Susan was trying to salvage the situation and apologized. We had kids with us and decided to try to turn the experience around and still try to finish the activity as it took a while to get there and we had already paid. Susan gave us a quick overview of the process and we were in the water in 10 minutes. It’s not that complex, you put on a life jacket and carry your raft to the water, wait your turn and start floating. We booked a time slot of 2 hours we had plenty of time. I am still in shock about how Danny blew up. Susan also mentioned she was not supposed to be working as she had a 15 week old baby in the car. The rafts were in poor shape. One member of our group had the whole bottom ripped. Mine had 2 candy bar wrappers in it. The actually floating down the river experience was nice but we were pretty rattled by our experience. Danny should not be dealing with public with this kind of behaviour. I felt bad for Susan but worse for our group who had to witness the whole scene. If you are working with tourists who are paying good money, at the very least, show some respect and friendliness. To yell and swear in public in front of children is unacceptable.
