Actually, the main purpose is to take a view of the bridge, I think one of the most beautiful and also to walk to the centre of the bridge to take a look at the whirlpool. You need to buy ticket to enter and walk to the centre of the bridge. And to go from Takamatsu station, you need to take the local train to Naruto Station, then walk to the opposite Naruto JR station to Naruto bus station. Then take the bus to Naruto Koen (Naruto park), please get the bus schedule from the Tourist information counter (is on the left of Naruto JR station). To return to Naruto JR station, you have to use the same bus (please check the time table).

The Park was further down from the entrance of Uzu-no-michi Viewing Walkway, at the end there was a viewing platform where you can take a full picture of the Naruto Bridge. Some tea houses and souvenir shops nearby.

We went to Naruto Park the first time in the afternoon, but were politely declined by the car park staff that time of our visit was way past the low tide, the site had shut down already. He gave us the tide schedule for the next day and advised us to come 30 minutes before or after the high / low tide. It was true that any visit beyond these times, would be nonsensical.

I thus advise those who like to visit this site, ensuring your checking of daily tide schedule before setting off.

The whirlpool, viewing from ōnaruto bridge, was not that fabulous. In my opinion, the charm of this site reclined more on the creative design of its viewing platform.

I come to this venue because it is at one end of the bridge from Shikoku to the Japan main island. Two things catch my attention: the big tidal whirlpools under the bridge and my salute to those engineers who built this bridge under extreme conditions.

Naruto park or Naruto-koen consists of boat tours pier, Uzu no Michi (Onaruto bridge) and Museum Eddy.

Bus fare from bus station in front of JR Naruto Station to boat pier and or Uzu no Michi is 310yen and vice versa. Prepare the exact amount! It will stop at boat tours pier before ends at Uzu no Michi. From boat pier to Uzu no Michi is 110yen.

Take a closer look at notice board at the bus station. It got the route to Naruto-koen and also its bus schedule.
If you rode the correct bus, you will get the automatic bus ticket with number (station no.?). During my time, it was no. 16. Take a look at the display in front of the bus driver. Under the ticket/station no is the price and it will increase. If it reached 310, then boat tours pier is just minutes away.

As English-language is very limited there, just ask locals or bus driver for Naruto-koen instead of Naruto park.

For boat tours, Aqua Eddy is cheaper than Wonder Naruto. I took Wonder Naruto since the Aqua Eddy boat time for high tide already sold out. I paid 1800yen at the counter then on the deck, if you want to go to the upper deck, you need to pay another 1000yen to the staff there.

I paid 900yen for Uzu no Michi+ Museum Eddy. Allocate more time at Museum Eddy since it got lotsa attraction there. You wont get bored!!

Take the steps up to the small hill for breath taking 360 degree view of the bridge. The shop has a nice selection of local produce.

The problem with the whirlpools is that they are hit and miss based on the tides. And only being in Japan for two weeks, I am not going to wait half the day or make a special trip to see them. So, you take your chance. And... we missed. It is a nice park and a great view of the strait and the bridge. But, it is very touristed and overly hyped. Since there was no whirlpool that morning, we didn't pay to go out on the walkway below the bridge. If you are coming through and have an hour, it is worth stopping on the chance of seeing the whirlpools and to enjoy the view.
If you are driving you will have to pay for parking.

We viewed the whirlpools from the tea garden observation deck.
It's located about 60 meters above sea level.
It's said that the Hachisuka family, lords of the Awa domain, set up a teahouse here at the tea garden and viewed the whirlpools in the Naruto Strait from here.
This place was called Ochaya at the time, but now it's called Ochaya.

You can view the Naruto Strait from a slight angle.
You can get a beautiful view of the tides in the Naruto Strait and the entire view of the Onaruto Bridge.

I went to see the Naruto whirlpools. From Naruto Park, you can get a beautiful view of the whole bridge and the whirlpools. I think it's quite impressive. You can feel the strength of the water's flow. You can see far into the distance. You can also feel the beauty of nature. Although it is a man-made structure, you can feel the grandeur and strength of the Naruto Bridge. I like this view.
I also went to Eska Hill. It's on top of a mountain. The view from here is good too. You can see the whirlpools and Awaji Island. It's nice to have a good view.
