About
Nestled within Discovery Harbour on Georgian Bay, the King's Wharf Theatre is a pleasantly rustic, 385-seat venue that offers all the comforts of a modern facility. Flanked by the historic buildings of a 19th-century British naval and military base, the theatre is located at the end of a beautiful boardwalk that looks on to the homeport of replica ships H.M.S. Bee and H.M.S. Tecumseth. A visit to the King's Wharf Theatre takes only 45 minutes from Barrie and Orillia, or just over an hour from Collingwood. While in the area, explore the communities of Penetanguishene and Midland, which offer unique shops and dining establishments. You'll also want to discover such treasures as Ontario's first European Community at Sainte-Marie among the Hurons.

The theatre is beautiful out on the lake. On Golden Pond is such a heart warming show that is equally hilarious and worth every chuckle. The actors and actresses are fabulous and this show is one you don’t want to miss

Actors all came across very professional and was comparable to going to a Toronto theater. Easy access to the grounds and beautiful setting on Georgian Bay.

On Golden Pond was a Critic’s Pick in The Globe and Mail. We are thrilled to present this calibre of entertainment on the shores of Georgian Bay.

Beautiful location! The show was very well done. Great acting, since it was not full we were able to find a seat with a clear view( only because of a tall person) but really not a bad seat in the house.
Norman was a wonderful character and made me laugh...they were all good!
Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be an open restaurant there. Captain ‘s Table looks closed. That’s too bad.

Glad you enjoyed your visit. Captain Roberts’ Table is closed this season, but we have many wonderful restaurant partners in Penetanguishene and Midland to complement your theatre experience.

My husband and I joined by our good friends enjoyed a lovely evening watching the opening performance of On Golden Pond. It was a lovely evening during intermission to be outside with the beautiful view the wharf has to offer, and the performance was very well done by a great cast. The refreshment and snack bar was very busy and the volunteers running it were fabulous and did a great job.
Thank you Drayton Entertainment and Kings Wharf Theatre for an evening to remember.
We will be back for Wizard of Oz in September.

As usual as it is with Drayton shows, it was a wonderful show.
The senior actors were great, we had a chance to chat with them after the show. We told how we enjoyed their performance, being seniors our selves we seen our selves in their performances. We laughed and shed a tear. Awesome show.

Beautiful spot for a playhouse. Also the Drayton Theatre is always a fun evening. We watched the comedy Buying the Farm. Was well done with only 3 characters.

This place is so picturesque! Every seat is a good seat in the theatre. Never seen a play I didn't like. Love the smell of pine as you walk in and then some delicious ice cream at intermission.

We watched a wonderful production at the theatre . The venue is so unique , set on the shores of Georgian Bay . The parking is perfect with a short walk to the venue . This venue is small which makes it a wonderful place for any show as you are so close to the stage . Perfect evening out !

This is the second best show I have seen at the King's Wharf theatre in 17 years. (The best was "The British Invasion" which I would love to see back.)
The production had me smiling, laughing and singing for 2 hours of sheer entertainment. The cast was superb with impeccable timing and very talented musicians.

Thanks for the shout-out about Twist & Shout: The British Invasion. It remains one of the most popular and beloved productions in the 23 years we have been operating at the King’s Wharf Theatre!
