It was a quiet ride and because it was late on a weekday we did not make reservations so saved some money. Be sure to call ahead to see if it is busy and need reservations.

Yes it may be pricey now but we really enjoyed our trip to Victoria. We paid the extra $15 to have access to the business lounge which was nice and quiet.

I must congratulate your employee that has 30 years on the job directing cars to park on the ferry. We drive a big truck and he parks us then tells us to move forward so that we are unable to get out the passenger door and the lady next to us can't get out of her drivers door. We both... More

Hi christi400, Thank you for your quick review. On the route between Tsawwassen and Swartz Bay, we offer many amenities such as a cafeteria, snack bar, and gift shop all contributing to a comfortable crossing. A great piece of advice is either calling us or checking our website to check traffic volumes prior to travel. We look forward to welcoming... More

Don't expect there to be a ferry with space for you when you arrive: don't expect your reservation to be waiting if you are a minute past the checking deadline: don't expect your $22 reservation fee to be refunded if you don't make deadline: don't expect any shelter from the blazing sun during many-hour-long waits during summer peak season: don't... Went to Salt Spring Island from Tsawwassen (if you are not familiar with the Vancouver area, Tsawwassen is simply one of the suburbs) in early September with stops along the way at various other gulf islands. As locals we can somewhat grumble about the cost (a car and a 2 person rounds trip is around $150 give or take) but... More

Hi Steve M, Thank you for your warm words. It’s always a delight when a pod of whales come up for a visit- definitely a highlight for our passengers and crew! Reservations between Tsawwassen and the Southern Gulf Islands are strongly recommended because 100% of the deck space is reservable. All that’s required is full pre-payment of the fares since... My wife and I really enjoyed our trip over to Victoria the other day. We love riding our motorcycle to the Island as BC Ferries offers first on and first off travel to motorbike riders; we get tucked into places at the front of the ferry where cars don't fit. To make the trip even nicer, right now with the... More

This turned out to be a most relaxing and enjoyable way of traveling between downtown Victoria and downtown Vancouver. We took the BC Connector bus from Douglas St. in downtown Victoria just around the corner from our hotel the Doubletree to Swartz Bay where it drove on to the BC ferry to Tsawwassen. We were then able to get off... More

Pleasant trip, nice scenery. Fast efficient car loading service. Fast efficient cafeteria too. Washrooms serve a huge number of people and are not cleaned often enough.

Hi ed1776, Thanks for your review! Our vessels carry thousands of people who often bee-line for the cafeteria for our delicious White Spot entrees. Our crews are well-trained to accommodate a wide range of requests and large hungry lines. I’m pleased to hear you’ve enjoyed your crossings with us. According to 2 BC ferry Managers, parking vehicle in the parking lot was unusual. I checked the parking lot information there is no where on their website that says you can't park an uninsured vehicle on the lot. But these two ladies even threatened to call the cops.
