We drive onto and off a BC ferry on this route 4 - 6 times a month. Overall a very efficient and comfortable service with only a rare glitch, often caused by unavoidable things such as weather or people whose cars won't start, perhaps because of draining their batteries with gadgets?. The crew are uniformly friendly and helpful - great... More

You know what would have been great customer service? The highway to Swartz Bay Terminal was partly closed due to an accident and the bus to downtown arrives at the ferry terminal at 6:59 (only 13 min late). The staff just shut down all the counters and 50+ people missed their 7:00pm ferry... 5-10 min wait for the ferries and... More

Hi Uwe, Thank you for taking the time to share your recent travel experience. I'm sorry to hear you weren't able to sail on your desired departure. Unfortunately our terminal staff are unable to anticipate how long a highway closure may last and we cannot hold a sailing for an indefinite amount of time. Please know I have shared your... More

I love taking the ferry to the islands. On my husband's first trip we saw orcas, dolphins and had to stop to help a sinking fishing boat. The views are outstanding.

Hi Tettlley, Thank you for your review. It sounds like your husband had a very unique experience on his first trip. One of my favourite aspects of taking the ferry, is the opportunity to see marine wildlife. Even if there aren't any whale sightings, it is always nice to watch the birds hovering over the Southern Gulf Islands. We look... More

We were going to spend a few weeks in Vancouver, but needed to go to Victoria first. We took the Sky train to Bridgeport station and then the #629 bus to Tsawwassen. The bus was packed, but got us to the terminal in time for our 3:00 PM crossing. Ticket purchase for walk on travelers was fast and we had... More

The BC ferries are wonderfully well stocked with food, gifts and space for sightseeing, plugging in a laptop and/or relieving your pet. Felt like I was on a cruise ship as contrasted with the old rust buckets that populate the Washington ferry system (where I am a frequent passenger). I'm sure they are heavily subsidized but BC is definitely getting... More

I use the ferry to get from Victoria to Vancouver. I was a cheap, pleasant very scenic way to travel. I only seem to take an hour and half, but once on the ferry there are a bunch of thing you can do. I just grabbed a seat by the window and just watched beautiful scenery.

Hi Hotelman08, Thanks for your kind review. We are happy to offer many optional amenities on board our vessels between Vancouver and Vancouver Island, but it's always the simplest things that are the crowd favorites- like the beautiful scenery! Our vessels have large outer decks and plenty of windows to get an all-encompassing view of our beautiful coast. I'm crossing... More

We seem to take the ferry every month or so for sports. It is clean and everyone is friendly. The food can be very expensive so taking snacks is always a good idea. It's a little bit long way from the parking to the boarding. Also the boarding way is a bit up hill so might be a bit challenges for seniors or strollers. There is elevator inside the ferries so you can go to sun deck without any problem. Their food is ok I order eggs and ham on the english muffins... More
