What a stunning place. We visited in October so very quiet. This meant that our boatman spent 20-25 minutes with us showing us round and telling the history. He was a star and so passionate even though he has probably told the same story millions...More

7 euros seemed quite expensive for a five minute outing in a boat around the lake. It is rather spectacular but we were glad we hadn't come far to see it.

The cave is a must see when you are in Kefalonia, as the waters are so clear and even at a depth of 12 meters you can see the bottom.... The boat men who take you around give you all the information you need, whilst...More

This cave is amazing, don't get me wrong. However, it is literally just two caverns and a 5 minute tour with a guy singing and taking you round on a rowing boat. I enjoyed it but if I didn't see it, I wouldn't have minded...More

What a wonderful tour of Melissani cave. The guide was very friendly and gave various facts about the cave during the tour. The water is crystal clear but very cold. The boats carry about 10 people and the tour takes about 20 minutes. It was...More

It's not often you get to go on a boat on a lake within a cave! Really clear water (cold when you put your hand in) and a very friendly boatman happy to tell you all about it and take your photo for you!

This boat excursion costs only 7 euros. If it were in another country it would cost 30 euros. You will go through a nice experience. Drive to Sami and from there follow the signs! Enjoy your trip.

A must if your touring around the island, super cave to visit with the added bonus of going on a short boat ride into the back of the cave. The boatman was very friendly on our trip and was no problem for him to take...More

There's a slope down to the boats and you'll need to hold them tight getting on and off the boat, but yes I'd say the experience is toddler friendly.

The cave is on kefalonia one of the ionian islands, nowhere near mykonos or santorini, you would need to fly into kefalonia or get a boat from athens which i think takes 6 hours. Also there is relatively no public transport... More
