- Manoj K190 contributionsNice lake with many fun activities to do.Bhimtal Lake is a natural water body, surrounded by many hotels, resorts, and Temples. It was peak winter when I visited and there were not many tourists. I believe during peak summer the place will be full and one can expect slow traffic in and around BhimtalVisited December 2022Written December 29, 2022
- Sandy_JSRJamshedpur, India1,565 contributionsScenic and Less CrowdedBhimtal is a lake city named after Bhima, the mythological character of Mahabharata. We visited the Bhimtal from Nainital on a day trip. The Bhimtal lake is at a scenic spot with a small island at its centre. It offers splendid views of nature's beauty. The lake offered similar boating and water activities like other lakes, hence not done. As compared to Nainital, Bhimtal is a less crowded place. The lakeside houses several hotels and restaurants.Visited June 2022Written February 21, 2023

If you have visited Nainital then no need to come here. Hot air balloon and Para gliding are two extra attractions here. Simply wastage of money to visiting here.Visited May 2023Written May 24, 2023
- VIPIN_GOEL_TP_ImpexNew Delhi, India7,184 contributionsLargest Lake in Kumaon RegionBhimtal ('bhim' means big and 'tal' means lake in Hindi) is the largest lake in Nainital district and Kumaon region and 2nd largest in state of Uttrakhand. It is situated at an altitude of 1370m above sea level and is about 22 km from Nainital. We reached here around 1:00 pm while travelling to Binsar from New Delhi. We paid Rupees 50 as entry tax in Bhimtal town. The lake is very beautiful and has wonderful views of hills all around with green slops. One can see the fascinating cover of clouds around there on hills. One can do boating here and can go to a small island which has a restaurant and has an aquarium to see. A masonry dam on the lake stores the water for drinking, for agriculture, for fishery and keeps the inflow of tourists here.Visited September 2023Travelled with friendsWritten October 14, 2023

Good lake for boating and day activities.
You can have food nearby on carts which are nice by local vendors. You will get few options of restaurants also.

A serene place with a mythological history. A calming baotride helps you wash away the stress of the journey. We also engaged in zorbing and pedal boating. Not very crowded usually.

The lake is surrounded by deforested hills. Lots of development activities around that spoil the looks. The only nice part is the end of the road that locals call daat. There are some street food vendors and also boating can be done.

The DEPTTS are charging exorbitantly for a boat ride to the ISLAND CAFE and back. It is just a stones throw virtually. For 04 Adults one has to shell out Rs.900.00 just to reach and enter the Cafe. Eats extra. Because of this you shall find the CAFE empty most of the times.

Visiting bhimtal on full moon night is awesome. Less crowds after 7 pm and you enjoy different views of full moon in the lake from different sides. Take a stroll from 7.00 to 9.00 pm , and soothing moon light spreads through lake is mesmerising. And when you check out sunrise next morning , same lake but totally different looks . Bhimtal make our holidays truly memorable. For nature lovers Lively scenic beauty

Am planning to reach bhimtal hotel and have 2 and half days to cover bhimtal, nainital and mukteshwar.
1. Will it be okay to hire full day cab from hotel itself for day 2 nainital and day 3 mukteshwar? What should be the approx price for a cab ?
2. How to plan day 1 in bhimtal itself since I will reach around 2 pm ?

In the season time, it's very difficult to get the local taxi for Nainital & Mukteshwar. I suggest you to hire a private taxi to enjoy your trip.
