We went to the River Safari with Hennie what a great tour guide. He picked us up at our hotel and drove us to the river. He was explaining all the time about all the animals. What a great day!!!

The boat trip was interesting but mainly because of a tour guide who had accompanied some Dutch tourists. The seating on board could be better arranged.

Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable about the wildlife including a large number of birds that we saw. He was very patient and thorough in finding all sorts of mammals and reptiles we never would have seen without his expertise. The meal afterwards was also very good. We are vegetarian and they accommodated us well. They even came to our hotel... More

What a disappointment! Bad food, no drinks, no snacks, no vegetables, no dessert. Absolute waste of time and money and would be embarrassed to take a visitor , local or foreign, on this floating Castle Lager barge. Rip off!

When you go to the Oliphants for the first time it is sooooooooo exciting ... but you can only do the boat trip once. It is a long trip down the river and can get extremely hot - or very windy. There are times that you do not see any animials so this can be boring. It's not really a... More

What a pleasant day trip if you are on your way to the Kruger Park or if you are staying in the park for a length of time. We gently cruised down the river seeing Eagles, Waterbuck and Hippos. We enjoyed an excellent lunch onboard, they have a real braai fire on board. .. steaks grilled to perfection with veggies,... More

Poor experience. Nothing much to see. The crocs and hippos change river side when the boat gets close so without a huge lense you wont see anything. Everything is slow. The boat itself and no comment from the staff to entertain. At the end nobody was really trying to watch any animal even the adults. The price is too much... More

I went my wife and young children, one who is 4 years old and the second 3 months. Unfortunately we didn't see much game. The overall experience was good. I did however think that the experience was priced for international visitors and not locals. At R299 per head one would expect a free drink or two.

I went there a couple of times for day visits. Very quiet and relaxing place with a beautiful view of the Olifants river. The owner is very friendly and was willing to make exceptions for us to have a boat ride even though it wasn't pre booked. However the staff is very rude and the food needs a lot of... More
