We travelled with Trailfinders. The organisation was superb. We had a guide for our 3-day stay called Gandar who was very knowledgeable and thoughtful. A ranger called Ayub was assigned for the Orang Utan trek; frankly he was a genius, we saw eight including one...More

Worth the drive from Medan to be close to nature. Book Jungle Edie as your tour guide. He will purchase park permits and help with hotel and transportation from Medan. We stayed at Heritage Hotel.

I went to this years ago but little has changed judging by the recent reviews. It was an unforgettable experience that needs to be handled with care, since wild orangutans can be quite dangerous. The distance between you and them needs to be maintained and...More

I have mixed feelings about this activity... I'll start with good points: - of course it's a marvellous experience to see free orangutans who look happier than those locked in zoos cages - I suppose it can bring awareness to people to associations who try...More

It is really beautiful to see these animals in the wild. They are used to human presence, so they are not absolutely wild, but still they are free and you have the chance to come close and observe them... if they are willing that day!!!
