There are many efforts to hold the sea back and besides a local guide there are also written explanations showing how the shoreline and muddy cliff have altered over the years. That is the real story here as this lighthouse is the northern most point in Germany close to Denmark. There are shops around the car park area which is ticketed... More

Absolutely worth visiting, either by bike or with a car. It's the southern most tip of Germany and one can see one of the Danish islands from the tip. We were lucky to see a sea lion on the beach! This is a place come if you are seeking a quiet solitude or to go for walks with your family.... More

Two lighthouses, several houses, grass, sand, wind and sea. The place which seems like some end of the world. The romantic and desolate. The calming place.

Definitely worth a visit for some nice scenery and the Sylt beaches. Rent a classic Strandkorb or choose you own spot on the beach.

Went there today and loved it. We had to pay 6 Euro entrance to go through with our car which was alright. The lighthouse and the few is just breathtaking

If you like nature, sea and walking on white sand - the place to go! Even though that swimming is dangerous and not permitted.

Splendid place for beach walks and hiding in the dunes ! This is the most northern place in Germany and its just great to see it as one of the few unspoiled nature reserves. Bring your picnic and just be inbetween the sky and the sea and the dunes !!

This is one of the wildest and most natural parts of the island. Fine sand beaches are backed by massive grass and heather covered dunes. In places sheep graze seemingly unaware of the hikers, cyclists and sightseers. On a nice day puffy North Sea clouds float on a silver and blue sea.

Sylt is very special place out of Westerland. You can find quiet areas like Ellenbogen near List for an excursion and hiking. It is very well preserved and unspoiled. It is also worth to mention the surronding dunes before to arrive to the bay. I also like a lot List where is nice restaurants and shops by the port.
