Discovery Wildlife Park provides "forever" homes for orphaned...

Discovery Wildlife Park provides "forever" homes for orphaned wildlife and displace exotic animals. Daily animal presentations are included with your admission and provide an up close educational experience for all ages. Bears, tigers, jaguars, lions and wolves all take part in these presentations to educate our visitors on conservation issues and the importance of respect for all wildlife. We have a full concession plus an amazing gift shop for your shopping pleasure! Electric golf carts are available to rent if you have a family member with mobility challenges. New this year is our 65 site campground equipped with 30 and 50 amp power, washrooms, showers and located right in the Park! Listen to the animals at night, book an evening animal encounter for the whole family, fish in our stocked trout pond - there are lots of reasons to spend a night or two at the Park! Parking is free and there is plenty of room for big RV's and buses. The park is 90 acres and there is about a mile of walking, there are tables and benches throughout the park for your family picnic (yes, you may also bring your own lunch!) and we offer photo opportunities with our awesome bears and our TV star beaver.

I was pleasantly surprised at how nice this little zoo is. The informative bear show was great. The animals looked well cared for.

Way over priced for what you see . The bears and the camel was the only thing that was visible to see as the other animals were sleeping . For such a big area there is nothing here for kids to do. No proper washrooms and no park. Literally took us 40 mins to go around the whole thing so... More

I was very disappointed to hear you did not enjoy your visit to our Park! From what you had said, it appears you must have visited late in the day, as we do have many daily animal presentations happening throughout the whole day. These are included with your admission, so you can see our bears, lions, tiger, jaguars and wolves... More

Discovery Park is a wonderful place where animals are given a second chance at life. This is not a zoo in the traditional sense. It is a sanctuary with a range of animal species (mostly from North America) that were orphaned or discarded and would have faced certain death if it were not for this family run organization. It reminds... More

Our staff are totally dedicated to caring for these animals for the duration of their lives and are passionate about educating people about the issues facing them in their wild environments. In my opinion the living conditions of these animals was poor. The location of this venue is on bare land with few trees for shade. The only means of shade for the animals are within their sleeping quarters. The treatment of animals appears fair but I disagree with animals being used to entertain a watching audience, in this case, a... More

I know some people would like this experiance but we were not real happy with it, in the whole tour we got to see about 4 animals, most were not available to us in the designated walking area.

We really do love bringing our now 3 year old to visit the animals. She cried her sweet lil heart out when she was not allowed to pet the bear lol. Kids, right? The animals are all beautiful and seem content. I wish there was a way to have a chance to directly feed them as we have with other... More

I had the opportunity to visit the Discovery Wildlife Park near Innisfail Alberta this summer with my grandson. It was an awesome experience not only visiting the animals but going on the bear tour and getting a picture taken with one of them was very exiting for the boy. We also got a tour of the reptile section and the... More

The park is spread out and the animal enclosures are large. I think it is a wonderful that there are parks like this who are able to care for orphaned animals or injured animals that cant be returned to the wild. Enjoyable walk around the enclosures, animals seem happy and healthy and lots of black bears to see as well... More

We went to the Discovery Park twice in Sept with family and friends. Both times, we saw the bears presentation but they were with different bears and completely different shows, very informative and interesting. The grounds are immaculate and the animal enclosures seem roomy and spread out. The camel and the ostrich were particularly entertaining. Everything seems well thought out... More

This is an open air wildlife park featuring a wide variety of animals in large fenced-off enclosures. The trails around the enclosures are well surfaced and easy to walk. Staff are both friendly and knowledgeable. The presentations that they put on periodically are well worth attending. The gift shop too is very good. The variety of animals is considerable, ranging...
