A boat ride from the train station will take you to the islandin less than an hour. The boat passes through beautiful Venizia lagoon with great views of both side of the river. The high wave from the speeding boat gives you a feeling of horse riding. When arriving at Murano, you will see a small street beside the water... More

Beautiful Italian church on the island of Murano. Very peaceful and quite, ideal for a spot of contemplative thought.

If you've been to other chapels around Italy this one won't impress you much, but what it's interesting about this one is the floors, they are quite great and the entrance is free! So if you are in Murano why not pay a visit?

The outside of this church is stunning, with the colonnaded apse. The interior is lovely, but I didn't want to look up, I was so taken by the mosaic floors. I almost hated to walk on them - they are exquisite! I loved the description along the rear wall that explained the symbolism of the figures in the floor. The... More

A quiet corner on Murano. The small church has a floor reminiscent of a Dan Brown novel. It is a mosaic of symbols from the 12th century, partly explained on a couple of posters near the entrance. The mosaics were renovated in the 70s, but are in need of further preservation. Go see them before global warming takes over!

We revisited the Murano Chathedral and was fascinated by its exterior. The repetition of arches and white pillars rends the building an unusual harmony. Yet on the inside it is an eruption of floor tiles.

If you are thinking about a visit to Murano, then go there! While there, this wonderfully well preserved old church is a must see. Exciting architecture, and a floor that has to be seen to be believed. Loved it.

A unique and lovely place, almost lost amongst the glass showrooms, only requiring a moment and a donation. You are surrounded by religious artwork, (some reconstructed in the 18th century,) all while walking on the greatest treasure of all the incredible 12th century floor. A place to wonder, sit, or to offer prayers of thanks

The church is really beautiful. Why don't we make churches like this in the US. The mosaic floor we amazing and the altar was beautiful as well. The whole church is just full of history. don't miss it on Murano.
