This is a very beautiful church. It is possibly the oldest church in Venice and the glorious mosaics are stunning.The golden mosaic of the Madonna over the high altar is exceptional.As in all religious buildings there is a dress code protocol.

After eating a relaxing dinner we were strolling down the canal. Huge building and decided to go in from the side. Wow, huge church inside. The organ was playing and we discovered we were the only ones in here.

Sorry, I can't remember the hours, however we were there on a Saturday and got to go in for a few minutes right after there was a baptism or some such event so it was abut mid-morning. I think they have some weekday hours... More

I think they have some weekday hours it is accessible as well as Sunday services. (For a really stunning Basilica do not miss St Marks in Venice)
