We spent this weekend at Aberavon beach & it was fab. The boys (6&9) loved it. They scooted along the prom, played at the playground, had a giggle on the pirate crazy golf course & of course built sandcastles, collected shells & paddled in the sea (albeit with wellies on!) There are two cafe's and an icecream parlour for food... More

Long beach with footpath/cycle path. With a splendid view of the steel works. To be fair it was a cloudy/rainy day and deserted. We much prefer Barry Island for the beach and facilities.

Came here after the disappointment of Barry Island.. What a contrast! Aberavon Beach has a vast expanse of beach, very long and also nice and wide, yet shallow and gradual in the sea. Great place for the children.. and dogs by the looks of it.. makes you feel very carefree. When the sea air gets to you, there's a welcoming... More

Worth a family day out...when it's hot this is a great walk along the long sandy beach. Great bars and restaurants along the promenade. Water is safe.

Take a stroll along the front, nice cafe, playarea for the children and the beach is very clean. Plenty of onroad parking and you can walk for a good few miles.

Lots of sand, Dog friendly during off peak months. A nice beach. Good for skim boarding. Stayed across the street at the Best Western.

Fantastic promenade walk with stunning views. From the backdrop of Tata Steel in Port Talbot across the magnificent and massive bay as far as Mumbles head in Swansea, this has to be one of the best promenade and beach walks in Europe, let alone the UK. On the Aberavon stretch you have the benefits of some nice eateries as well…..Remos... More
