Had a look at the tram museum today and was very impressed. Good static display of horse drawn trams, all sorts of electric trams, as well as electric busses. Also able to ride the tourist track down to the park on a choice of tram. Unlimited travel on your entry ticket. A good day out for not only the tram... More

Located approximately a 30 minute drive from Adelaide CBD, the Tramway Museum at St. Kilda is an absolute "must see" for young and old alike. Comprises an extensive and meticulously presented display of the history of Adelaide tramways, featuring a range of static, walk-onboard trams & trolley-busses, plus a number of working trams which service the nearby St Kilda Beach... It's in an odd spot and doesn't really advertise itself but if you like/remember the old Adelaide trams it's the place to go. As well as the static exhibits, the volunteers run a number of trams each open day ( Sunday, 12 noon till 5 ). You can ride just one or all of them. The trams themselves are beautifully... More

We were actually at the Adventure Park, which is awesome, when we saw a tram pull up. We were so glad we took a ride and visited the museum! The staff were lovely and there was so much to look at, we stayed for almost 2 hours... with a 4 year old! It was great and I hope more people... More

It's not a big museum and it's rather oddly located so far away from the city center but it's well worth a visit. It has a very interesting collections of Adelaide trams and trolleybuses that should be interesting for most people - not just museum buffs like myself. As a bonus you get to ride in a historic tram or... More

This museum is located at St Kilda, not the CBD, so you will need to drive there. We recently attended the opening day of the new St Kilda playground which provided tram rides to this museum. So glad to have visited! So many trams, buses and buildings to explore, this will delight any train / rail enthusiast, young or not... More

This venue is only children/seniors. Very good value as you can ride on the trams as many times as you like, every half hour a different tram does the short trip. There are also 3 - 4 sheds full of the old trams in very good condition and able to be inspected by walking through most of them. There is... More

Not too far out of the city, the St Kilda Tramway Museum showcases the history of light rail transport in South Australia. Regular short distance tram journeys are available on restored vehicles. Drop into the local hotel for an excellent meal and an extensive wine list.

This was my first visit to the tramway museum, I am embarrased to be a local and not to have known about this place!! The volunteer staff are friendly and knowledgable. For $10 you can ride the trams to the playground as many times as you like and it's a great place to have a picnic lunch, or walk across... More

Okay, maybe trams aren't everybody's cup of tea, but this place is still really cool. Yeah, it may have some strange opening hours (Sundays and Public Holidays 12:00 to 5:00) and it is not the easiest place to get to if you don't have a car, but it is still really cool. They have a heap of old (and one... More
